interesting card reader conundrum (1 Viewer)

so i just got a usb card reader and it works fine on my buddy's computer as well as the school computer. however, it does not work on my pc. i get some I/O problem or something.

also, my pda that can act as a card reader works fine on my pc which is windows xp by the way

Do you have any similar devices, have you ever installed USB 2 drivers?

I guess with windows XP u dont need to install any software for any USB device, unless there is a difference between the PC and the device from an operating system point of view!

it works fine without drivers on other xps

plus i tried to install drivers and it says that they are not needed

might be, because most likely the other computers have usb 2
