Inter have enjoyed mixed fortunes on the road this season, winning six, drawing one, and losing six of their thirteen away encounters.

The Nerazzurri began their away campaign on the wrong side of a 4-3 thriller in Palermo. This was followed by another defeat - this time to newly promoted Novara - which signalled the end of Gasperini’s stint at the helm.

New coach Ranieri got his Inter career up and running with a 3-1 success in Bologna. But the managerial change was unable to fully cure the Nerazzurri’s travel sickness, as they slipped to a 2-1 defeat in Catania despite Cambiasso opening the scoring.

Their only draw came against Atalanta in Bergamo, with Sneijder and Denis getting on the scoresheet as both sides settled for a point apiece.

Ranieri’s men then experienced an upturn in fortunes and strung together four successive away victories by a single goal. Siena, Genova, Cesena and Milan were the victims of this revival.

However, a 1-0 defeat in Lecce brought the start of the Nerazzurri’s slump in form. Roma were up next and ran out 4-0 winners at the Stadio Olimpico, before Napoli recorded a narrow success at the San Paolo.

Inter's last away encounter, in Verona against Chievo, saw them bring an end to a seven-game winlesss run through goals from Samuel and Milito.
