Midfield pair ruled out for Juve
Juventus have lost midfielders Marco Marchionni and Cristiano Zanetti to identical injuries two days before their return to UEFA Champions League football.
The 28-year-old Marchionni and Zanetti, 31, both tore muscles in their right thighs in training on Sunday and scans today ruled them out for one month. That means they will miss both legs of Juve's third qualifying round tie against FC Artmedia Petržalka, at home on Wednesday and in Bratislava a fortnight later, as well as their opening Serie A encounter with ACF Fiorentina on 31 August. Defender Dario Knežević is also a doubt for the first leg against Artmedia due to a knee problem and coach Claudio Ranieri will make a last-minute decision on his fitness.
