Donate money to save Juve. I propose that all Juve fans across the globe donate $10 each to save our beloved club, and fund a magnificent transfer campaign.

I know it sounds like a crazy idea, but I firmly believe if 16 of our 90 million or so fans (the number may be off, but I am aware that we have around 16 million fans alone in Europe) across the globe donated $10 each, we would have a transfer budget of $160 million dollars.

Simplistic? Yes Realistic? Probably not.

Some may donate more, others less so.

This idea was inspired by Azzurri7 after I read his post yesterday, where he stated that he would be willing to "pay out of his pocket" to fund the Diego transfer.

you "donate" money when you buy (official) merchandise, order channels that broadcast matches instead of pirating satellite feed, and go to Stadiums.

That's about how it goes I guess.

Lion, you are not meant to be objective :p

This is just a radical and revolutionary idea.
Sorry :D

Actually I think the better idea would be to donate money and do a kind of take over. We were discussing this possibility in a thread last year.

That would be awesome. Sell Juve to the fans. After all, no one loves the club more than us. However, who would be responsible for transfers, and how would we get all the shareholders to agree on transfer policy, strategies, money allocation, sponsorship, ticket pricing, etc... ???

Yeah that's the hard part. I guess you'd appoint specialized people on contracts to do specific tasks with goals and deadlines set. kind of like the management we have now, but a more efficient one.

So the fans would "hire" or vote for the club president who we think is suited for the job (example Lippi), and Lippi would go about appointing coaches and transfer managers..etc.

Juventus is a publicly listed company. By donating money, you're only making the shareholders richer.

A better idea might be to form a tifosi association of some sort which would become a major shareholder. According to my calculations, there are about 65.000.000 Juventus shares on free float, at today's rate of 0,715 EUR per share, you would need at least 46.500.000.
With this, the tifosi would own 32.5% of the club, still way below EXOR's (=Ifil=Agnelli) 60%, so you wouldn't be in control.

Hypothetically yes. However, this Tifosi Association would be a major player and influence decisions, don't you think?

You really think so? Contributing money to your beloved club is not a waste me thinks :p

Are you sure the "charity" organizations are actually distributing that money to the needy, and not pocketing it themselves? :shifty:
