Gianluca now in the Indie singles chart top 10

Gianluca Bezzina's Eurovision Song Contest entry Tomorrow has entered the top 10 of the BBC Radio One Indie Singles chart.
The Maltese singer, who placed eighth in the Eurovision, broke into the chart last week.
In the contest, the UK awarded Gianluca seven points.
To be included in the indie chart, a record had to be distributed independently of the corporate framework of the major record companies.

So guys, today we have a u21 clash Poland - Malta. Any ideas if your youngsters are gonna give us a hard time ? :p
    we gonna rape you!!

Our under 21s have started to perform better, however, I can't imagine us doing too well away from home. I honestly have no idea who is called up for Malta or Poland, but i'd say 3-1 Poland

Honestly i lost interest in our young teams because people in charge were so incompetent so i can't predict anything. All i know losing to Malta would put them to shame :D

watch yourself...we don't come into the polish thread (if there is such a thing) and insult your footballers (even though ours are almost all part-timers) :p

Either way, if you only beat us by 1, get ready:

The Maltese U21 team. What a class team. I personally love Bjørn Kristensen, the Maltese-Danish midfielder. He's such a beast.

    http://www.independent.com.mt/articles/2013-07-30/news/the-worlds-longest-dining-table-2202599427/

Zabbar local council has set a national record for the longest dining table and will soon send all relevant material overseas to have the feat recognised as a Guinness World Record.

On Friday evening, a substantial number of bricks were placed along the main road. These served as the base for the table. Then on Saturday morning, planks of wood were placed, paving the way for the table to take shape. At 359 metres long, it beat the previous record of 302 metres.

At 8pm, some 800 people started finding their seats. After a small introduction and a speech from Mayor Quinton Scerri, the measuring and verification process kicked off, in the presence of three witnesses who were brought in to make sure that everything was being done according to the specified guidelines. The final length of the table was that of 359.7 metres. The National Record certificate was given immediately by the Malta Records Representative. As for the Guinness World Record certificate, a report is being compiled and being sent to GWR offices for final verification.

Dine Along the World’s Longest Table was held on 27 July at Sanctuary Street in Zabbar.

Maltese man who answered door naked cleared of sexual assault

A Maltese man living in Wales who opened his front door naked to a cold caller has been cleared of trying to sexually assault her, Wales online reports.

A jury at Cardiff Crown Court took just an hour to unanimously find Maltese-born Mario Sciberras, 57, not guilty of the charge.

He had told the court how he was about to have a shower when the young woman knocked on the door. He answered it, peeping around from behind, to hide the fact he wasn’t wearing any clothes.

“She started telling me I need not pay for Broadband and I was saying I didn’t pay,” he said.

“But she kept on talking and all of a sudden, walked past me, barging her way into my house.”

The portal reported the woman told the court she was one of a team of canvassers working the Brackla area that day on behalf of Talk Talk.

She claimed she was invited in, while he was behind the door but turned, once inside and saw that he was naked.

She alleged that as she hurriedly went to walk back out, he started to close the door and put out one hand to within 40cms of her shoulder.

She was then seen outside upset and distressed and police were called.

Mr Sciberras said within a short time he found himself being handcuffed and taken to a police station for the first time in his life.

“I had to turn off my chicken before I left,” he said.

Giving evidence from the witness box, he said: “I was really embarrassed – I never expected her to come in.

“As soon as she saw me with no clothes on she started saying she had to leave and still holding the door with one hand I gestured with the other for her to go.”

Character references from people who have known him since he arrived in Wales from Malta 10 years ago to work as a driver described him as honest, dependable with good moral standards and a “nice person to know”.
