This was what was said at the start of the season :sergio:

Italian FA tactical coach Franco Ferrari believes Juventus will play just like Barcelona next season, giving Bianconeri fans a chance to dream.

"There will be plenty of possession. Short passes, making the ball work and waiting for an opening to hurt the opponent. Juve's style will be like the Spanish national side, Barcelona, or how Milan played under [Carlo] Ancelotti," Ferrari told Tuttosport.

lets steal Gasperini from genoa...or the King, Hiddink.

Clearly, Ciro is killing this club.
Hiddink commented the game for netherlands tv, but sadly he did not drop a hint about him coming :p

We have a core of players that a proper manager can build something around.

Giovinco, Marchisio, Diego, Melo, Sissoko, Chiellini and Caceres. The other five are really terrible and a bunch of these named players are being tortured by wrong tactics. If things don't get fixed soon we will not even make top four in the league.
the funny thing is, i think it will be CIRO or "the core", because if ciro stays on we will certainly lose some of those players in the next transfer windows. they are too ambitious to play under a retard they fucks up all.

Our performance tonight sums up our season.
I can't remember us playing a real dominating match this season.

One has got to feel sorry for Buffon, who needs an operation but still continued to play against Inter and Bayern.
I can only imagine Nedved sitting in front of his television, crying with what has become Juventus after he left. Some say time heals all wounds, but I can certainly say that I will never forget Nedved at his prime and nothing will ever replace that wound.

I don't know what is happening to our players, but I said it during the game:
Our players always look so happy and are joking around when I look at the training pictures. They should take every training as a match, no matter what.
It reminds me of Ancelotti saying that he could not ask his Chelsea team to train at 80%, since they are all such winners. It is a big differance comparing to Milan (Ancelotti's words).
This is also the reason why Serie A has lost most of its prestige. While the rest of the European clubs try to play modern, fast football, Italy is still playing the ''organized, defensive'' play.

Now about this Juve team:
Certainly some mistakes have been made during the summer. Why did we bring back Cannavaro? And why the heck did we buy Grosso? They are in the last days of their carreer, did we expect to win anything with those 2 at the back?
I don't think so. We should give our youth products much more chances. They are with Juve for such a long time and carry it in their heart. Cannavaro is a joke, trying to prove himself because he left during Calciopoli. Well, there must be some kind of conspiracy behind it, because he is ruining all his credibility.

I don't know what to say about Diego. Yes, the German league was different but the fact is he does not deliver. This is thanks to the cluelessness of the whole team and also thanks to his form. Felipe Melo is a joke, I question myself what his motivation was to join Juve, because I can't see any motivation in his play.
The only time he does is when we score, but I don't care about him acting a monkey.

Obviously, something is wrong with our tactics. Ferrara is far to inexperienced to handle Juventus. On the official website, he said that this game would be like a Final. Well, I certainly hope that he won't reach any finals this year, because it will be a disaster. I don't blame his substitutions because whoever plays, there is no rhytm in the team and they look completely clueless. Del Piero may not have played very well, but when he had the ball he was very calm and did not try anything stupid or too fancy. Something our less-skilled players try to do too often.

If this is the best Ferrara can get out of these players at his disposal, he should really resign, or our board should be smart enough to see that there is no future for him at Juventus now. Funny that the whole forum, including me, were dissapointed with Ranieri and wanted change. But now he's laughing at home, because with these players at his possession, I do think that he would have done better.

If this was Barcelona I wouldnt be this pissed but its fuckin Bayern. There is no way that THIS Bayern team should trash Juve like that IN Turin.

We're trying to play 4-3-1-2 but we have no movement in the team. The players are just standing around like statues. Half of the team is old, slow, and washed up. I have never seen Juve play so bad in such an important match.

Even when Ciro was handicapped with some players.... Big part of this goes with him. playersd totally lost on the field, in the wrong places, shitty defense, horrible subs. It was all put together in one place.

i think the only 3 players that at least tried were Careres(which sadly started the beggining of the end with that amateurish tackle), Marchisio (because it doesnt matter what happens, he always try) and Trezeguet for that classy goal. But the rest were too poor, specially Melo.

A big part of this mess could be solved with an experienced manager who knows whats going on and what he wants, but like Alen said....also a lot of players which dont fit our team should go. Buff, Trez and DP should stay, or at least leave the decition to them because thats what they deserve for being champions... but we seriously need a mentality change and like some said, an overhaul in our football phylosophy.

Im pretty sure trhis thing will get not solved the next season, beause also this problem goes with all italian teams....but since we are in the spotlight we show to the world how crappy italian football is. But really, even among suckers, we are the icing on the cake taking in consideration who we are.

For the sake of Juventus and Italian football, if this continues, i also hope for an Italy crash in the WC.

why should we blame diego or melo ?

for my part i think diego does give enough for the team. if ferrara tells him to fall back into our own half (which clearly just robbs him energy to do what WE like him to do), than it is ferraras fault.

same with melo. melo does crappy tricks all the time. if we have a coach that need better glasses to actually notice this (after so many bad games) i can not really blame melo. he is just a "soldier" who does certain things. without someone to instruct him or properly use him, he is just one braindead zombie. in this case "properly use him" would be "bench him".

you could as well play molinaro as centre forward and blame him, why he does kick the ball 100 m above the goal ...

diego is no deep-lying playermaker, melo is in bad form, del piero is not fast enough to bypass any defender that is not older than him ... and if ciro does not see this, the fastest way of regaining "some" improvement is getting a better coach.

clearly we will not be worldbeaters with another coach, but another coach could easily transform us into a way better team that what we saw the last few weeks.
:stress:

Check the live thread. I'm not saying otherwise, Ahmed.
READ THE COMMENTS IN THE LIVE THREAD! I don't blame any of the players. They don't have any motivation, so why should I blame them? And yes, V!$#$U#%A#$%#$L, another coach will transform Juventus into a better team for a couple of weeks, but they call that a honeymoon period (Ferrara, June 2009). A competent replacement will transform Juventus into a better team for an extended period of time.

Please lets not make this about Del Piero. That wasn't my intention at all.

It's our dependence on the old guard. The old guard that can't keep track with modern football. The same old guard that will only get slower, which is the exact opposite of this modern football where everything is done in an incredibly fast level. Until we have them here, we will not improve.
With huge hope that I'm wrong about this, I'll say that i'm 100% convinced about what i'm saying.

But they're only part of the problem. The other part is explained by Andy. We need a coach who has absolutely nothing to do with Italian football and thinks 100% differently from the Italian football school.

We can't go on with this mummy football and in order to get rid of it, we must get rid of the "mummies". We must replace them with players who are able to keep track of the way football develops.

Think long-term. In short term (very short term, though) losing Camo, Ale, Trez etc might hurt us, but in long term it will be a blessing in disguise.
1 thought and 1 question:
-this is an italian club...the bod won't do this
-when you say a short term at what period of time do you reffer?

Ironically, Hiddink was one of the commentators in the Dutch tv show that showed our game and he said:

" Van Gaal is usually quiet on the bench during a game because he prepares the games and team very well. Ferrara was constantly on the sideline, he didn't seem prepared at all and him and the team were complete chaos. "

That was an utterly ridiculous performance by Juve who were outrun, outplayed and outclassed by a very spirited Bayern team. The mentality Bayern entered the game with and the way they attacked non stop from minute 1 was amazing. They absolutely deserved to go through today.

Juve's midfield in the first half was horrible defensively. Marchisio and Camo basically didn't help out at all in defense, Melo was left to do all the dirty work and he did an absolutely terrible job. The defense was obviously missing Chiellini today, as they needed his vicious defending style today. The defense was over exposed and almost always outnumbered by Bayerns attackers.

Heres what i thought about the players.

Buffon 5: He was really a akward today, he wasn't at fault for either goal but he made a mess of most of Bayerns crosses and set pieces. He really looked like an amateur keeper out there, and just couldn't deal with the most basic of crosses.

Caceres 7: The only player that comes out with any credit today. He played his heart out, he defended rather well and going forward he was always a threat with his pace and dribbling. Despite giving away the penalty(which imo was rather soft), his overall performance was very good

Cannavaro 5: Really poor by Canna. He just couldn't deal with the constant attacking from Bayern.

Legro 4: He was easily skinned, he was partly at fault for the second goal and generally was rather poor.

Grosso 5: Another guy that was poor in defense. He also added nothing going forward.

Melo 4: Gave balls away, could not impose himself on midfield, played too many stray passes, all in all he was just horrible today.

Marchisio 5.5: Did not play as well as he could have. Created the goal with a very nice cross, but neglected his defensive duties in the first half, and generally was rather disappointing.

Camoranesi 5: Neglected his defensive duties, did not provide the creativity like he should have, overrun by Bayerns midfield.

Diego 3.5: He was horrendous, the worst player on the pitch. What was he doing out there? He offered nothing, nothing at all. One of his worst performances ever.

DP: I wouldn't blame him for today, i'd put the blame on Ciro for playing him despite the obvious fact that he was rusty after a lengthy period on the sidelines.

Trezeguet : I don't know how to rate him. He is a player that lives and feeds off service. He got absolutely nothing from the midfield today, he scored Juve's only goal from the only bit of service he got. Cannot be blamed for todays loss.

He talks about width? Then use width and stop playing with just central players. 3 Central midfielders, trequartista and two central striker. Fuck that Ciro..

I really like Ferrara as a person and I think he's smart and could be good coach, but how can he become one when he learned from Lippi, I wish he'd learn under Hiddink or other coaches of Hiddinks caliber.
