For all the talk of the personnel and formations for this game, the key is the mentality.

Without knowing whether Ferrara will actually want to play, or just sit deep and defend, it is hard to decide on a team.

I, for one, don't mind if we just defend, as long as the appropriate players and system are used. I hate seeing a team trying to defend with attacking players, because it almost inevitably ends in tears.

Well, it will be a battle, the game will look a lot like the one vs Inter. No need to try and play champagne football at this point. Therefore all of Melo, Sissoko and Marchisio need to play. Diego will be in there too. I'd go for Camoranesi and Del Piero but Ferrara will go for Amauri (the useless) and Del Piero.

We need to pull through to the next round and we can spend the next months on trying to find a way to play some actual football.

It's a tricky call. Bayern will go all in, they have nothing to lose and defend, so imo we need someone that can organize a counter attack that can kill them. So one of Camo or Gio or both should play. If we keep 4-3-1-2 that will be Camoranesi!

No need to play champagne football, but we can't also play like cowards and sit back and wait them to attack. In the end this is Bayern Munich, they are in terrible form, and we shouldn't be scared of them. But sure we have to respect them, we only have to play our game, and try our best to win this match. Playing for draw would be a suicide.

Ditto, I'm glad I don't have to go to uni in the evening tomorrow but the anxiety is just going to be painful.
It's as simple as a win or lose game, knockout football

Yup that's what's worried me and the news for today is crushing, our outstanding two players are going to be out. D.P, Amauri or Diego have hardly been outstanding or even consistent.
