Against chelsea who were in complete disarray under scolari only to appoint hiddink shortly before they faced juve. In this short time he re organised them but they were still struggling at were there for the taking. Juve played well but lacked the quality to take the chances created and lost a close contest that should have resulted in victory once iaquinta levelled the tie on aggregate in turin.
Chelsea qualified regrouped improved and flourished under hiddink and pushed barca all the way before been robbed in the second leg of the semi final.
Let's not forget Juve played Chelsea in their Hiddink honeymoon period. Probably the worst time to play them. If Scolari had stayed on Juve prob would've went through. As it was Chelsea were very lucky. Very poor ref that night that went against Juve.
I'd personally like to see a huge shake up at Juventus. Like some have said the hierarchy needs to change. People with a track record and ambition and a will to make Juve a real force again need to be installed.
I am thankful that Juve have bounced back so quickly after 2006 you'd have to describe it as a great success story how many other teams would bounce back so quickly and have so much expected of them. But we are Juventus and we need to aim highly.
I agree to a certain extent that i wish Ciro to not be abused but he is clearly too fresh for this job. He may become a good coach eventually but i'd like to see someone of experience take the job. Guus Hiddink would be the ideal candidate. An intelligent man who wouldn't feel the need to play players on reputation. He would know exactly what was needed and could work with the players we've got.
It's clear we need a pacey ball playing centre half to compliment Chiellini in defence. I don't mind Canna and Legg being at the club but they should be used as back up along with Ariaudo if he's going to be up for it. Caceres would be a good squad player but we need a promising right back or someone who can come in and do a job and has a future in the game still, Sagna, Bosingwa etc. At left back Grosso is a short term option i would have preffered to see a younger player in his mid 20s ready to step up to a big club.
I think a new striker is needed also. If Trezeguet goes i'd want a big name striker signed with Amauri, Del Piero and Iaquinta vying to partner him. Amauri is a shadow of the player he was at start of his juve career and needs a kick up the backside.
We really need Momo back playing and although Melo and Diego ain't been great i would hope that given time they could become great players. Maybe Diego should play out wide a bit more and float like Zidane used to and have Camo and Gio on the other wing. There is some squad players like Tiago, Poulsen, Zebina etc that should be sold on to make some extra cash.
And can we please stop talking about this glory hunting ian idiot.... don't give him the attention he craves. He's loving it
Sacking Ferrara on the back of this would be justified but i dunno if it will happen. Realistically he ain't going to win the league and we could struggle to make 2nd. If he's kept on and this happens he would be sacked anyway so maybe best to act now but it's clear Juve can't chop and change managers. Get in a big name like Hiddink and give him time and some money
