Del Piero wants to stay
Created on 3 Mar 2006

Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero has reaffirmed his commitment to stay with the Bianconeri.

Speculation has grown over the last few months that the striker could leave the club in the summer but after his strong performance in Italy's international friendly with Germany, the player has insisted he has no intention to leave.

Del Piero knows that he is not getting any younger and that everyone has to take their turn on the bench if the team is to remain fresh.

"I will stay here," said Del Piero. "It is always a challenge and each season is different.

"Being on the bench is not a problem, we have to rotate.

"We are still involved in lots of competitions and there's the World Cup too so we need to play with a competitive team every game."

Whereever he goes in the future (even when he retires) he is always going to be a legend of football and specially he's always going to be a Juventino with a bianconnero heart.

Forza Pinturicchio!!

his character is amazing - Being on the bench is not a problem, we have to rotate.

He's one of a kind. Football will never be the same once he retires in the future (hopefully far future )... it just will be a worse thing, it will lose a lot of its magic. For me, Football = Del Piero.

He's a great man!We need a new Del Piero when he retires..... Who do you think it'll be. Zlatan just is NOT the man with the right personality and will never be.

I think Balzaretti maybe will be a very beloved juve player. I like this man! But it would be nice to have a new forward like del Piero or Baggio with dribbling skills and amazing free kicks. But I think it will take some years to see a new Alex.

We are lucky to be able to watch him while he's active. Thank God for Alex Del Piero!!
