What does that have to do with LEADERSHIP SKILLS???

You dont have to be the best player in the world to be a good leader.
Yeah but the Problem is that your rating him waaaaaay too much Z, Making him a great leader and by miles better than Dp, hehe, C'mon.:cheesy:

DP is not a great leader. He's only a leader becuase he's popular and because he's been here for so long. If it were on merits, Thuram or Canna would have been captains.

And btw, I rate him highly as A LEADER, altho he's not a bad football player by any means.

So Del Piero is only a leader because he's popular?

And because he's been at the club for 10 years, not because he's a great leader, yes.
Correct me If am wrong, But can't Capello take his armband and give it to someone else, If he's not convinced by Dp being the Captain. Or maybe Capello is acting like stupid ass?

I am not Capello, and I can't account for his actions, however there are better leaders in Juventus than Del Piero.
I don't think so, maybe there's alot of players that can take the armband, but in Juventus better than Del Piero, I don't think so.

A leader needs to motivate the team when things are challenging and difficult. They need to set an example for others and rally the troops. They don't necessarily need to be the best players, but they are someone with a combination of natural ability and experience that people turn to.

While DP has had many unleader-like moments this season when Capello substituted him (where it was pretty clear his attitude was thinking more about himself than in how he was motivating his teammates), DP deserves credit as the captain at the helm in winning our Scudetto ... just as Capello deserves it for his merits as the coach.

Well I think Del Piero leads more by example than commanding with a strong vocal presence. The captains that are able to do both are the best IMO, much like Maldini for Milan, Keane for Manure, Vieira for Arsenal, Gerrard for Liverpool, and soon to be Gattuso for Milan. These captains who can command by voice and lead by example are the best of the lot IMO. Sometimes teams just need that extra vocal presence to take them to a higher level on the pitch.

Azzuri you are blind for real, I am sure you don't pray to God,you pray to del piero :D

I understand you love Del piero, you believe he should play no matter in what form he is,but you claim he is a great leader or a great captain??:undecide:

for Capello,he can't do that from the first season,or the coming seasons if alex stays, imagine he is coming from Roma to coach us,and take the captain band (whatever) from him,the fans would kill him for sure..

in general:
seriously this topic is becoming disgusting, what kind of juve fans are you (all), del piero is 30 and up,his not always in good form (sometimes he kills the game), and he is overpaid, what you think is the best for your club?
if you think we should keep him with these wages, and his last atitude (that he wants to be first team player) which will create problems for juve, then I'm sorry to say this ,but you are all gays

your really trying hard to find tinny things about Del Piero, and what you just stated is wrong, though I agree that Tacchi is one of my fav players and deserve the armband after Alex(If you ask me)....

Being Captain doesn't mean he should carry a stick with him and run behind his mates and beat them and ask them to win the game, having the armband is what you produce on the field from your experience and you have to know how to deal with some difficult sitiuation(which I don't find any player better than Alex on handling these kind of sitiuations, Like Ref, Fans, the one Vs Roma, etc)
Being a Captain means you can help your team and they can learn some from you....

So, I don't see any player better than Alex to be the Captain Honestly...(Juve)
Heh DP can do no wrong eh? He doesn't have the leadership skill like Conte did. He's too quiet on the pitch.
