Lippi won’t confirm Alex call

Italy boss Marcello Lippi is remaining tight-lipped over whether he will recall Alessandro Del Piero to the national squad.

The Juventus captain has played well in recent weeks, increasing calls for him to be involved in Italy’s World Cup trip to Norway in June after his omission from the last match.

But Lippi, who bossed the No 10 for some years in Turin, is giving nothing away ahead of his next squad selection.

"You’ll have to wait and see whether I call him," stated the tactician. "But I do follow all players who are between the ages of 18 and 38."

Lippi mirrored that answer when he was asked about Livorno striker Cristiano Lucarelli after his 22 goals so far this term. "The same applies to him," Lippi noted.

The Azzurri main man was also asked to comment on Juventus’ likely Scudetto victory, which will be their first since he led them to the title two years ago.

"I think they deserve it," explained the Viareggio-born Coach. "They have always been leading the pack this term.

"Although Milan have often caught them up at the top of the table they haven’t been able to overtake them.

"Juventus also won the game at Milan last week which was the decisive moment in the title race."

i am not saying that that isnt my opinion. at least i try to argument my opinion. i just express what i see right for the team that i am a fan of, that touch of magic that del piero does once a month is not worth the 5 balls lost every game.
Ridiculous, Bessy. Quite frankly you're retarted. You don't try to argument your opinion at all. Saying it's better for the team in every aspect, is NOT an argument. The argument would state WHY it's better for the team.

Oh? 1 touch of magic every month? So explain me how Del Piero scored those 13 goals then? And how did he manage to let us win against Milan? Wasn't all of his magic already used at that stage?

Funny how it's the people who criticise others for not being objective, that are subjective themselves. You couldn't give us a single argument, bessy. Look at your own sig! Try to ****ing act like it!

And to be honest Bes,if any player on the planet were able to conjure just one piece of match-winning magic per month,he'd be very welcome indeed.

Imagine if we had five players who could win 8 matches for us a season like Del Piero did this year,we'd win the league with full points every year:rolleyes:

Oh, you're more right than you realise. People who claim that they are objective usually just think completely other way around than "the mainstream" and therefore they think they are more reasonable and objective. This is so common in every aspect of life that it's amazing. Sometimes people who don't claim to be anything are more objective than those who say that they're objective all the time.

I'm not saying there aren't critics of DP that are objective. Is Don Bes one of them? What I've seen, no. But he doesn't need to be. It'd be nice if he realised he's not objective but that would need a whole lot more than bunch of people on an internet forum. Old habits and images of yourself are hard to get rid of, you know.

So it's the best for Juventus to dump a player that has not only given us 13 goals this season, but also made us win in the most important game of the season? That's what's best for Juventus?

Donny, its surprising that Moggi and Giraudo havent think on it ???? what a pair of stupid assholes they are.........

Please, your cost-profit way to look at football players becomes particularly non-sense when it arrives at DP.....his big salary (that was reduced in 15 percent last year and probably will be reduced the same this year) can be double payed with the number of shirts he sells, the TV ads he does, and all the money produced by his image ( remember that his Juve contract includes a percentage of is image comerzializing incomes for the team).
One of the reasons he has been untochable is because for the revenues he produces to team....please, use some more convincing arguments to support your stubborness..... :D
