I can't take this any more.. This is plain too much.. This is starting to get really annoying.
In 1993 we got a player named Alessandro Del Piero. Since day magazines and media hated him because they new that he was going to replace R. Baggio, and they were right. Juve sold R. Baggio. Del Piero received #10 shirt. Since that day Del Piero has been putting a smile on every Juve fan. From one game to another.. From one trophy to another.
In 1998 final against Real Madrid Del Piero received a hard injury which made him doubt full for the world cup 1998. Still he was chosen to the world cup and participated. His physical form was not 100% but never the less he helpped Italy as much as he could.
After the world cup and with the start of season 1998-1999 Del Piero was unfortunate to get a knock out. This was a major injury the ended his season.
During Season 1999-2000 Del Piero was back, unfortunately his form was not perfect. The media started killing him again. Eating his flesh alive.. The big unfortunate thing, came from THE FANS. They started acting like the media. Calling Alex names. For god sakes he just returned from a freaking serious injury that kept away from the ball for almost 1 year.
Still he managed to shut them all up by scoring, assisting and giving the fan a world a wild treat. He didn't return to his previous form though. But so was the team. The team was not as they were pre 1998. The team during the seaons 99-00 and 00-01 was really missing.. The management wasn't that good under Ancelotti.
In 2001-2002 season Lippi took over the team again. Del Piero started scoring good amounts again. We were unfortunate the first season with Lippi in the Champions league. But we were very successful in claiming the serie A. Del Piero scored 16 goals in Serie A and 4 goals in champions league.. During this season Del Piero suffered from an injury that put him away for few weeks. Still he came back off it.. Media couldn't just stop putting him down.
In 2002-2003 was a very good season for Juve. We were really strong both in Italy and europe. We secured the Scudetto early and lost the final to Milan in the CL. Del Piero was also impressive in that season he scored 16 goals in Serie A and 5 goals in the champions league. Again Alex also suffered from a muscle injury that put him away for a months or so. When he came back media again started bashing him. He still scored and led the team to victories.
In 2003-2004. The whole team was bad. Del Piero got two injuries. Del Piero only played 22 games that seasons scored 8 goals. He played 4 games in the champions league and socred 3 goals. Still the media bashed him. It was like this, if he plays well but didn't score in the match they say he is a stricker he is supposed to score goals but he isn't. When he scores goals they say well he was lucky to put his name on the score sheet. They couldn't help it ... The whole team was bad. Del Piero was injured twice and only played like half of the season but the media left all the team and focused on how Del Piero was bad. The problem is so did the fans.
This season, Del piero starts off by playing some average matches. He provided some good chances for his team mates but didn't'score himself. The media and fans started bashing him for not scoring.. They started saying Zlatan is much better than Alex. he scored the minute he entered in the first game.
Del Piero starts impressive and scoring.. Two against Siena, 1 against Roma 1 againt and another against Lecce.
Del Piero got injured. And was away from the pitch for a month or so. Now he's back. Capello didn't give him enough time on the field for some reasons that might be tactical. When Del Piero started playing again he started slow.. Well I don't blame him. He doesn't want to distory himself. For someone who got injured alot, it is scary to play again. He doesn't want to injure himself. This is why Del Piero starts slow. Once he feels he is back physically he starts impressing. And thats what happenning now.
Del Piero is impressing. He is scoring memrable goals. He IS leading Juventus to victories.
Some times the whole team is not playing well. Everyone goes looking for Del Piero and start critisizing him.
E.g. During real game. Del Piero and Juventus were playing well. Zlatan was delaying the ball alot. Until Nedved got injured and left the match. Now Jvue were playing without a playmaker. Del Piero needed to go down to the mid field alot. Whenever he took the ball Zlatan was not posistioned right to pass him the ball. On the other side, whenever Zlatan went to take the ball from the midfield Del Piero moved very good but Zlatan delayed the ball till it was lost.
Never the less, the whole team didn't perform well for one reason or another. Zlatan and Alex are no place for being bashed for that patch. They were left alone upfront.
But that didnt'happen. media and people started saying look at how del piero didn't play well.
This season Del Piero played 18 games (only 3 which he played 90 minutes) and he managed to score 9 goals averaging 0.5 goal a match. Thats better than any juve player this season.
Del Piero was very touched by the fans move when they started shouting his name in Delle Alpi asking Capello to field him. He was soo touched that after he scored the incredible goal against Siena he didn't go to celebrate with the rest of the players.. He went directly to the fans to thank them by giving a flying kiss.
Del Piero might be our highest salary but with that Juve are bringing alot of money because of ads and media.
For someone who have been fighting for Juve.,,,,, fighting for you.. Even if he didn't play well. Is this the way you pay him back. BY BASHING HIM. CALLING HIM NAMES.
I am happy with Alex's performance and I think he is one of the best Italian players over the past 15 years. Thats my opinion though.
I am very sad to see Juventini behaving like this. I've been supporting Juventus for a really long time, I know many juventini. One thing I love about Juventini that they have morals and respect. For me any player who plays for Juventus is worth my defence. What if this player is out Captain.. Our stalion. Our happy charm.. Our Smile maker.. Our leader.. Our KING. Hell yeah. I will aways stand beside him. He is ALESSANDRO DEL PIERO THE GREAT.
I dont'know whats with those people and the media. They just seem to hate Del Piero for whatever reason that is.
After all of that Del Piero is being polite. He doesn't go speaking badly about his team mate nor his coach. And whatever happened between him and his team mates coach or management stays between them. You never see Del Piero calling other people names. He is always polite. He is a role model for other players to look at. He got injured many times that other players would be lucky if they can stand up. Never the less, Del piero is here wearing the C and scoring amazing goals.
And just remember Del Piero is not GOD. He is just a human. He has his good games and his bad games. And dont start with me hsi good games are by faaaaaaaaaar more than his bad games. Otherwise he wouldn't have been our captain and he woudn't have been our smile maker.
I am not asking you to love him.. I am asking you to respect him. To respect what he represents. To respect what he was and what he is now. To remember what he gave and enjoy what he is giving now.
