Alex back as Juve win
Monday 14 February, 2005

Juventus returned to winning ways against Udinese with the help of a re-integrated Alessandro Del Piero.

The No 10 returned to the first team line-up just days after an alleged bust-up, one denied by the club, with boss Fabio Capello.

"I’m happy as we did well under all aspects," he stated after the 2-1 win at the Stadio Delle Alpi.

"I am just a little disappointed with what has been said and written about me over the last few days. I’ve never lost my serenity, I’m tranquil and ready to give my all."

The Italian has had a difficult season in Turin given his frosty relationship with Capello but he is maintaining his cool.

"Too many people are talking," added the international. "Whatever I have to say to the Coach will be said in private and not through the newspapers.

"I will continue to conduct myself as a professional player but more importantly as the captain of Juventus."

Del Piero was spared another day on the bench after Capello surprisingly decided to play with a 3-4-3 system.

"The most important thing today was to win," he noted. "The numbers were not as important as the way in which we approached the game.

"We played too many long balls in the first half but we were a lot more consistent after the break, despite the poor playing surface."

If we were to get rid of Trez, then who would we get to replace him?

If we have Mutu, Zlatan and Dp - none of these players are out and out goal scorers - IMO they are the type of players who play alongside a goalscorer and create for him. Same with Cassano (whether or not he will come is another story).

Milan has Shev, Roma has Montella, Madrid has Ronaldo, Man Utd has Van Nistelrooy....and so on. These players are all goal machines, and teams need a striker like that...Juve would need to bring someone else in to do this....who?

I heard his interviews yesterday and he was great (as always).
I loved when he said: "Too many people talk... only because they have a mouth"
How right he is!!

Trezeguet has been our most consistent striker these last years. Now he's been out of form for like a month (?) And your already claiming he's head... I can think of someone who's been out of form a lot longer but still get supported. Hang in there, he'll get there.

Many people, newspapers, TV channels ....etc have been talking about Del Piero and is it his end, they just can't stop trying to make him look bad. Everytime anything happens they try to relate it with Del Piero's situation. If Juve loses its Del Piero's fault. I just have one thing to say "LET THE GUY PLAY".
The media has been fighting Del Piero ever since he came to Juve. If you remember, after the first/second match when he didn't score they came on him like hell. He always managed to SHUT THEM UP by scoring memrable goals and help Juve on winning trophies. With Del Piero Juve won 5 Scudettos and 8 trophies.
Have you ever seen Del Piero going to the press talking about his coach or teammates? Ofcourse not. Why? Because he is a world CLASS player. With situation reaching their peak, with all the news flooded with Del Piero Vs Capello, what did Alex say : "Whatever I have to say to the Coach will be said in private and not through the newspapers"

Guys he is our Captain, he respect that very much... Why? Because he respect us: "I will continue to conduct myself as a professional player but more importantly as the captain of Juventus."

I just think he deserves more respect than what he is getting now..

He was? What was he saying?
That Capello was using the "Montella-method" on Del Piero. In other words destroying him for not liking him. And that if Cassano were to leave for Juventus, he would gladly welcome Del Piero at Cassano's position :D.

I know what you mean , we need trez , no question about that at least until we have some one better than him in his position
