Juventus Lead Chase For 'Free' Nonda
1/28/2005 12:57:00 PM
French daily l’Equipe is reporting Nonda is on the verge of reaching a deal with Serie A giants Juventus for a June move.
The Monaco striker’s contract expires in June 2005, and therefore the Bianconeri would seal his services on a free.

“Juventus have contacted us, but aren’t the only ones. Nonda wants to win international titles, and Juve can give him this opportunity,” said Nonda’s agent John Dario.

According to the report Juve have offered the Congo star a four year contract worth two million Euros a season.

With Ibrahimovic, Mutu, and Trezeguet already part of the Bianconeri’s squad, the signing of Nonda might mean Juve just want another bargaining chip in their hands to use with AS Roma for the services of Peter Pan Antonio Cassano.

Hmm, another forward...sounds to me as Juve are planning to sell a striker, Del Piero? Trez?

Puyol wont leave Barca.

EDIT: Cassano part is rubbish tho!

I know Puyol won't leave Barca, that's just a pipe dream

Replacing Trez with Nonda would be madness. Read the last bit:

Trezeguet's not going anywhere anytime soon, that is until we sign an equally capable goalscorer

Is that right? Montella is similar to Trez, and Monty didnt play that much under Capello!
that's because Capello didn't like/rate Montella. I'm under the impression that he's a fan of Trezeguet.

He didnt rate him? That just makes him a really bad judge of a player. I dont think Capello likes that kind of player at all, I wouldnt be surprised if it was bye bye Trez!

Hey, pobody's nerfect, right? :)

It's obvious that Capello has his favourites, just look at Panucci, Zebina etc. Just like any other coach, really.

Of course, thats true, but his favorites shouldnt make the club worst...
Of course not, but take a look at the thread title :p

I think everyone knows that it was silly of Capello to continually ignore Montella, whom most could have predicted would form a fearsome attacking trident alongside Totti and Cassano. Then again, you can't point the finger at Capello too much, after all he did bring a scudetto to Roma which, all jokes aside, isn't an easy feat by any means.

As a right back or as a central defender?
It doesnt really matter which he plays in, as long as you have a class defender such as Puyol. But i'd put him as a right back.
