Too bad reason will not reach these deaf ears in here.
It also saddens me because we should be celebrating 19 years of glory where Del Piero gets to step out as near the top of the heap as he could ever hope to. And yet people instead are celebrating this momentous day with bitterness, team back-stabbing, throwing people under the bus, saying "fuck this club" -- the very club that Del Piero dedicated 19 years of blood, sweat, and glory to -- etc.

It's more like why are you guys not getting us! We understand that he is being pushed out but even if he was not he was going to be sitting on the bench most of the time anyway.
Again, that's not the point, the point is, they are pushing out the biggest legend of the club, who btw is not getting much, and has actually said he'd even play for free for this club, who actually showed that at certain points can help the team.
Even if he would be sitting on the bench the whole time, which i hate to imagine and see, it should nonetheless be his choice, his decision to make.

So if Conte's role is to ensure that he use Juve's resources to the maximum capacity to succeed at Serie A and the CL, and Agnelli's role to ensure that Conte's got the maximum resources to do that, it's Alex's choice to take up a roster role and some of the club salary budget -- even if nobody has any intention of playing a 38-year-old in a CL or even Serie A match?
No need to be confused, this is not what you implied with your other post. You can argue that according to Conte he's not good enough to even be on the bench next season (but Borriello probably is) and then it would be another subject. But to say that it's better for Ale to leave and play is bullshit because if he wants to sit on the bench, who are you to decide what's good for him and what's not?

I totally agree, and people say I come trolling on here, but I just can't stand this nonsense when whenever someone here goes on babbling about how the fans should make a mess and ruin everything the team have worked so hard throughout the season.

Why would I as a fan be so selfish to see my favourite player on the bench most of the season just so we could see him for one more season? That is not thinking about HIM that is thinking about ME!
Lol please, selfish? He wants to stay, am I selfish to support his wish? If he wanted to leave and get more playing time I'd be selfish to prefer him stay and sit on Juve bench but this is not the case.

maybe it was his choice to leave instead of sitting on the bench.

You talked about us knowing Ale better then himself yet here you are making no sense. Alessando was talking every season how he wants to play till he's 40and from time to time about USA. You have absolutely no idea what went on backstage and what DP and the management talked.

Why all of you ignore his comments about his intention to play, and how hard it was for him this season to play so little? Selective a bit.

It's nice to see at least a bit reason in this thread.

Emotianal day guys, but in the end it's for the best, DP should not just a sub, and that's what would have happened if he stayed. Time to thank him, and move one.
I wanted him to stay... but this is the sad truth.... he was not going to get CL football with a top striker coming and the ones we have ahead of him already. His next year here would have been with less playing time than this one.

I would like him to stay here forever tho , but not at the expense of his happiness

ive always said f*ck agnelli blah blah blah but I now realize that winning the serie a, and perhaps the coppa, is the perfect way for del piero to leave. Seeing him close his eyes in relief as he kissed the trophy will rightly be the one of the lasting images of Del Piero in my mind. I just wish he was in fact retiring and not going to another squad

WE ACTUALLY HAVE QUOTES WHERE HE SAYS HE WANTED TO STAY, WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?
So what?

Interviewer: Alex, would you prefer to stay?
DP: Sure, I love this club.

Do you expect a different answer from him? But the thing is the situation has changed, he is deemed by coaching staff not good or too old or doesn't fit the any role in the team( I have no idea, but it's obvious that he is not in the teams plans) so he leaves in order to finish his career on the pitch rather then a trophy wife, being paraded from the bench.

I think he wanted to stay. But I also think he sees the benefits in leaving. He was very important for us in a few games this season and to me it's nice to end his career at Juventus this way: with the first trophy (let's not count a Serie B title) since going down to B. Ultimately players come and go. Even if it wasn't this year, Del Piero still would have had to leave at some point. Then let it be now. Because my heart is breaking and I couldn't stand the agony of not knowing when he'd leave, but knowing it would be soon.

Finally some sense.

And if he would be retiring then there would be no controversy and a very happy ending, but he wants to play more, so why make this sad? He will play next season, good.
