Prandelli:"I'll take Del Piero or Totti only if I'll be in emergency situation".

So, I guess Ale won't be in Euro 2012. But anyway, pray for injuries. Balotelli, Giovinco, Di Natale...
why do you care about Italy in the Euros? Did it ever occur to you the treatment of the figc towards Juve through with calciopoli? with wrongly allocated titles? and cover ups to hide the facts of Juve's achievements? which the likes of Del Piero earned on the pitch only to have that honour stripped away from him.

honestly speaking i'd rather Del Piero didn't participate in the euros that way he wont be mocked as past heroes living off past glory like the wc team of 2010, when this team gets embaressed again this summer. Del Piero doesn't deserve that, but rather to be remembered as a world cup hero.

why would a couple of goals matter if the team under performs, this Italy side are light years away from anything like championship winning material. Germany has Gomez, Italy has who? Balotelli and Borini? seriously? Holland has Robben and Van Persie, Italy has giovinco and Matri? lol, spain has xavi and iniesta, asides from what Italy has in Pirlo and marchisio, they are left with the likes of nocerino aquilani and drum roll please.... montolivo... The only thing that has changed for italy since the disgrace of 2010 is the manager, the quality within the side has by no means improved.

The quality has definitely improved. This Italy has a much better defense, the midfield is young but also experienced, and the attack is pretty meh but it's still better than that of 2010.

I can see Italy doing well in Euro but I hope Ireland and Spain make it past them.

dont worry the mixture of balotelli's idiocy and prandelli's persistence on making montolivo a trequartista when he is clearly incapable of playing that role will result in Italy's premature exit

No doubt this Italy is lacking quality compared to the golden era of 90's and early 2000s, but you are underrating them quite a bit.

Buffon, Chiellini, Pirlo, De Rossi, Balotelli and Cassano are all either World Class players are close to it. That's a solid core of players. Then you have solid and proven performers like Marchisio, Barzagli and Maggio etc.

They're not as crap as you think. I think if a little luck goes their way, it wouldnt surprise me to see them make at least the semi finals.

balotelli is no where close to world class, unless you think Italy intend to get far by scoring mostly from the penalty spot, he is more of a liability than a consistant goal scorer from open play, he has no experience playing in a major tournament other than that at u21 level where even then he cost Italy dearly.

I don't rate this italian side one bit and to say semi finals is nothing but overly optimistic, i dont believe prandelli has gotten the right chemistry and i doubt he will neither, the team looks very disjointed especially in midfield and attack

Italy has the defense though, that's how they've always won. Barzagli with Chiellini and maybe Bonucci are one of the better defenses in the world, it
is definitely going to be hard to get past them. A lot depends on whether De Rossi is up for the tournament and plays as important a role as Vidal does for Juve. The attack, yeah not much going on there. If I were Prandelli, I'd call up Cassano, Gio, Matri, and Quagliarella. Balo is a retard and should never be trusted with any remotely important tasks.
