Maybe. I'm not ruling that out, but I wonder why Conte doesn't want to field Ale or rely on him when he's still better than the others.

Looking at how all this happened the management want him out more than him wanting to play and Conte not able to offer him that.

--------------

1- Agnelli announcing this is Del Piero's last season.
2- Del Piero says this is not how things should work in a club.
3- Agnelli saying his words were twisted yet he never mentions anything concerning Ale renewal.
4- Del Piero says he doesn't want to quit football.
5- Conte not playing him when needed and fielding the likes of Giacc's and Boriello.
6- Pluto saying Buffon can stay as long as he wants while Del Piero's decision has been made.
7- Del Piero asked about his future and says Napoli is his future and he's not quitting football and wants to play.
I don't know, it's too complicated and too hard to speculate like this. I don't think Del Piero would complain and tell them that, he has more class than that. Dunno, maybe Conte just ask for runners up front and don't think Alex can handle it. IMO it's surely because Del Piero wants to play. He said he doesn't want to quit football, which is other words means he wants to play, he wouldn't have said that if he wants to sit on the bench. I'd bet it's the only reason. It's not like I want to defend Agnelli but I don't think him or anyone else wants to harm him after everything he did at Juve. I think they agreed or will agree that he can't get as much time as he wants and that's about it. If he didn't mind the bench I'm pretty sure he'd stay for another year. On the other hand, yes, I think it's pretty stupid to field Borriello and not him, I have no excuses for that because Borriello offers absolutely nothing out there.

As for Buffon's case, I think it's normal to expect that. After all he's a GK and they can play at old age, in fact they are only better. One more thing, what Marotta said was retarded. Not because it may be like said, but because it's simply retarded cause we were playing Napoli and those words can only destroy ones moral both on and off the pitch. Maybe he (Marotta) didn't say anything wrong, but guy has no brain to think with, nor any class whatsoever.

Rabih, can you find me a link to the whole interview when Ale said "this is not how things should be done"?
Can't bother man :D

But there's no way you don't remember it, you even commented on it and we were arguing for days. It was the day after when he got out of the dinner/meeting and he looked pissed when someone asked him what he thinks about Agnelli's comments he said he doesn't want to answer.

It was not only wrong, it was stupid.

Specially what he said about Buffon before saying what he had to say about Ale.

Well Alex pushed Robi out of Juve. Now how is pushing Ale out?!
:agree:
Even at 37 he's clearly our best forward. If the board wants to make replacements in our forward line they should replace the others instead of Alex. Forget the fact that he's one of the biggest club legends, one of the best forwards in his era, a player that has won almost every trophy possible, one who sticked with the club in it's worst time helping us to come back. Totally retarded and disgusting decision.

If anything, to be an example for the young players, to show what Juventus is all about, Alex should stay, for what he is to the club, for his presence in training, in the changing room and on the bench.
