Thanks, but i meant his number of Coppa matches, is that all time record in Italy or just for Juve player? :)
Back in the 80's 12 matches were played by the winner of Coppa Italia and the Coppa finalist until they got to the final. Today all it needs are 5 matches.
I want to say that back in those days it took 6-7 seasons for a player to gather 50 Coppa appearances and Del Piero needed some 17 years to get to the number 50, so a logical conclusion is that there are players who played in Italy +25 years ago that surely have more than 50 appearances.

Edit: To talk with facts, Mancini has 120 appearances, Bergomi 119 and 8 other players played 100 or more coppa matches.

I was recently looking at some past Juve seasons from the 70's and 80's and I noticed how in one season 30 matches were played in serie A (there were 16 teams) and 15 matches in Coppa Italia. 1/3 of the season were Coppa matches.
No wonder the Cup was so important back in those days.

Too bad no one cares about the Coppa anymore...

I think players and fans are interested more once their teams reach Semi-finals. Until then it doesn't really attract them.

But look at Roma-Lazio for example, I can bet the stadium is going to be fully packed and lots of hype will surround the game before kick-off with couple of days before. Should be interesting game to watch.
