Surely even his most fanatical supporters would have to agree that yesterday, his ONLY value was two free kicks which almost flew in. true enough, on another day that could have been two more for DP and for the team, but for the rest of the game, he was shockingly impotent. No pace. No strength. I am starting to feel sorry for him...

Definitely worth keeping on the bench. But to give him 90 minutes makes Del neri seem incompetent. Still, whilst saying that, its not as if he starts out fast in games, then tires. he starts slow, plays slow, ends slow. So if he is on, and we have nobody else to play in his position, why not hope we get a free kick near the end eh? Especially at 3-2, I thought it made sense to swap DP for Iaquinta, then play Quag off Vincenzo.

I hope that if Martinez is more likely to be a support striker for us, that he gets fit soon and takes DP's position, as we simply cannot expect to do well, if we continue to flog a dead horse...when he have stronger, faster, and importantly ALIVE horses in the stables, biting at the bit to play.

As long as he is fit and not tired DP should be on the pitch next to Amauri.
Well, he looked kinda bad for this game and had 2 weeks of rest...

I don't think he looked that badly, he usually plays like this, or at least has been for quite a while. He's just exposed by the fast players that are trying to make quick plays off of him and instead he's just hogging the ball.

Anyway, he was rested for this match, if he plays 90 minutes twice a week, now that would be painful to watch.

A good example of this was when Krasic played a nice pass to him and ran for a simple no brainer one-two where he would have been through direct on goal yet DP hogged the ball for so long that he lost it and Samp were on the counter

I can't be the only one tired of seeing him receive the ball with the back to goal, then falling to the ground slower than an arthritic lowering himself into a bath trying to earn a foul. This happens consistently, and it's not because he's actually getting fouled.
