It is true that Del Piero is not as fast as he was in 2002. That is absolutely normal. Is his fitness back then better than now? Most probably yes.

The question should not be, how can we replace Del Piero? It should be how can we utilize him at to the maximum. When you play Del Piero with slower players or a horrible midfield, you are simply asking him to do everything, which ends up causing him to drain MORE energy into the single game and not being as effective as he can be (this also applies to any other player in the world). Yes playing him 3 times a week is just wrong as well.

Should he be a super sub? I don't think so.
Should he start every game? I also don't think thats right too.

I honestly believe that he should be involved in a rotation system with Diego in the 4-4-2 scheme. He is still our most talented and clinical player. And he is still one of the best free kick / penalty kick takers in the world. A coach should balance all that and apply it to his system.

Its too early to judge or Del Neri yet. We sure as hell don't have a squad a strong as Inter's. But we have players like Buffon, Del Piero and Chiellini (hopefully in the near future too Marchisio) who really care about the team and are willing to put 150% for the team to succeed. So don't write us off yet.

Although I don't see it happening, but I hope we can see Del Piero and Diego playing in the same formation.

I still believe a diamond 4-4-2 with something like this:

Sissoko
Krasic --- Pepe
Diego
Amauri Del Piero

I believe this would create so much chances up front, but would maybe maintain possession would be the issue..
This one on the other hand:

Sissoko Marchisio
Krasic ------- Diego
Del Piero
Amauri

With Diego drifting centrally and Del Piero going left wide as he usually does..

I don't know.. I am just thinking loud..

Why is everyone so scared about tomorrow's match?

The players will barely run. Just another training match for them.
Yup, nothing different than the normal training matches, when the Juve players are divided in two teams and play each other.
Actually, this one should be even easier and lighter job (since they won't have freaks like Giorgio, Sissoko and Melo, who injure teammates even in trainings, against them) :D

Well, i remember exactly what happen in Villar Perosa last year, that damn injury that sidelined Ale for 3-4 months. The pitch was awful, and i believe it will be the same tommorow. So yeah, I'm a bit scared about this stupid friendly and i just hope that none of our players will get injured. let the Primavera win 10-0, who gives a fuck.
