Well, Maradonna has never been hailed for his intelligence, questionable lifestyle choices, not to mention his suicide tactics for Argentina, are you sure you want him to be your beacon of knowledge?
* Carlo Ancelotti: "He is a world-class player who needs no introductions".[4]

* Mauro Camoranesi: "He is an exceptional person and really doesn’t need to prove himself to anyone. Del Piero is a wonderful man and player."[5]

* Fabio Cannavaro: "In my view he’s the best person I’ve met in this sport."[6]

* Fabio Capello: "I believe in champions and Alex is a champion". "Del Piero is a player of very high quality and deserves his record". Because of having many strikers in the squad: "Sometimes I feel embarrassed at putting him on the bench."[7]

* Frankie Dettori: "Del Piero is a true genius"[8]

* Angelo Di Livio: "I've met Ale at the Primavera. And he was already a phenomenon. He was so brave that we forced the coach to make him debut at the main team". "He has those abilities that only great stars have. And everyone, as soon as they saw him, said “This one will surely make it".[9]

* Mark Hughes: "Even though Del Piero may be well into his 30s now, he remains one of the great players".[10]

* Pepe Kamel :"With his charm and charisma he has won us all, his creativity and magnificent talent have given us nothing more to ask for, and his free kicks, no comment"[11]

* Marcello Lippi: "Del Piero is a champion with extraordinary technical ability and wonderful characteristics. When he is selected he never disappoints. He is an example to us all." "He has great skills and intuitions that few other players have". "He is a captain in the real sense of the word".[12][13]

* Diego Maradona: Talking about the best 100 world footballers ever he says "Here he is, he is different from Zidane, he likes to play, he feels it in his soul; between he and the French (Zinedine Zidane), I stay with him."[14]

* Adrian Mutu: "Alex is an example for all of us. He works hard in training without ever speaking out."[15]

* Ruben Olivera: "Del Piero is my idol. When I arrived at Juventus and I was introduced to Alex, it was like touching the heavens with my finger"[16]

* Fabrizio Ravanelli: "Del Piero is able to do certain things, that could seem extraordinary, but he does them like they were simple"[17]

* Alessio Tacchinardi: "He (Del Piero) always comes to the training field with a smile for everyone, a comforting word for everyone. This is his greatness: humbleness... he’s a golden person".[18]

* Giuseppe Taglialatela: The former SSC Napoli keeper recalls a goal conceded from Del Piero: "Let’s say he scored a goal a la Baggio, a la Maradona. He took the ball in midfield, dribbled 3-4 teammates of mine. He’s good, what can I say?"[19]

* Gianluca Zambrotta: "It’s still surprising to me that Alessandro Del Piero has gone through his career without winning this trophy" (the Ballon d'Or).[20]

* Nicola Legrottaglie: "For us he's an example. He's an exceptional lad outside the playing field, and consequently also on the pitch. He always proves this and he proves it in spirit.I arrived here five years ago and I saw him in a certain way, but after five years, now I'm seeing the first Del Piero again, the one I admired many years ago."

* Gary Neville: "He is the greatest player i have ever played against, he twisted me incredibly."

Enjoy.

What about Buffon, Nedved, Zidane, Vialli, Lippi, Ancelotti, Zoff, Fergson ...etc are they all on Mushrooms?
They're on socks. They're all smoking socks.. Buffon smokes socks more than the rest though. Ferguson as-well, but difference is that SAF eats them instead of smoking them. It's like chewing gum for him.

Enjoy.

- Alex Ferguson: "I've always wanted Del Piero in my team. Even in 2006."

- Zidane: "Playing with Del Piero is fun, joy and above all a wonderful experience" this was almost two years ago."

- Ronaldo: "Del Piero is unique. I would have loved to play alongside him."

and the list goes on......BUT, but vicCB counts more than any of these since he runs faster than Ale.

Look, put as many quotes as you want. Del Piero has a good reputation within the footballing world, I don't think I've ever questioned that, so what you are doing is redundant.

My opinion, and mine alone, as that I would prefer other type of players to the one he is now.

Viccb, dont you have anything else to do in a juventus forum except from mentioning how crap ALEX is..?i'm tired of reading your posts.log out and never come back
That's an interesting outlook on life. Whatever opinions you don't like you prefer to shut out?

I guess there's no way that us mere mortals and our little opinions can surpass the almighty vic's one.
I don't remember saying that my opinion was better. The only thing I remember was saying that the hero worshiping you guys do is creepy, which it is.

Look if you say he's getting old and that he shouldn't start then it's ok man, it's your opinion and no one here has said that he HAS to start no matter what and that he's the best player in the world atm. We can respect the way you think.

But coming here just to say he's crap and that he should retire, it's not only moronic but disrespectful towards a club legend, it might be decades till we find someone who is remotely close to him and what he represents.

Would you log into a Man Utd forum and bash Giggs, Neville and Scholes?, or bash Maldini in a Milan forum?

We really appreciate your approval here. I feel relieved now.
That's the funny bit. I remember you telling me that I did not pass your approval, and yet when I said that in my own sole opinion whatever I think about Del Piero, it turns out that now I'm requiring people to pass mine? Weird.

VicCB few mins ago in the Amauri thread

What better target men are there than him in Italy? Pazzini is arguably about his same quality, if that but other than that I don't see any good players that could easily take his place.
you like amauri and you hate del piero??get lost man
I didn't say I like Amauri, I only said there's no other clear cut better target men in Italy. If I could have an italian equivalent to Higuain, I'd love to but there isn't.
The guy hates all Juve players. :lol2:

Exactly. I'm yet to read one post like he claimed where I said Del Piero should start after he scored the Freekick last week. He hasn't posted any.

He did not only say that Del Piero should retire, but

1- He's faster than Del Piero
2- Del Piero in his prime is not half the player Zidane was
3- He doesn't care about Del Piero
4- He adds nothing to the team
