Exactly. I wouldn't mind if Lippi had decided to rejuvenate this team but when you see that he called up such oldies like Cannavaro, Camo, Gattuso and Pirlo who didn't even have "average" seasons you would only believe that Lippi has completely lost it.

You know, if he called up the exact same WC winning squad, and Italy lost all 3 matches, I would've been very happy, I only wanted to see them one more time in Azzuri
but this was just crap..

He could have had a pretty decent squad if he had called up the best players in the league. No Del Piero, no Totti? Okay so why Iaquinta? Why Camo? Why Pirlo and Gattuso? Cassano and Balotelli should have made for the squad. Lippi is all to blame for that and also for choosing the wrong systems and wrong players.

To be fair Pirlo looked good. All the other oldies were crap. I'm actually glad Del Piero didn't go. It was bad enough watching Buffon on the sidelines.

Hoori, Pirlo was a good choice.
Others you mentioned were everything but good.
