I don't remember anyone calling Totti scum for that incident. Ranieri was called a loser though...

I don't think what DP did yesterday was cool...
Maybe not scum, but some other interesting insults were thrown at him for that.

Totti was being subbed by Ranieri for Brighi. Totti went to Ranieri and talked to him and asked for Menez to be subbed off instead. Ranieri then proceeded to sub of Menez.

It's not the same. DP had a good reason...he was on his way out (he took the armband off) but then he saw claudio is injured and shout at Zac. Totti just decided that he's the coach.
Totti had a reason too, maybe not such a good one. Menez was about to get a red card any second.

He made the team continue with 11 instead of 10 players.

I'm not questioning DP, im just saying that the reaction one and the other gets for very similar actions are just laughable.
Like always. Inter ask if they can play one day earlier to prepare better for Barca and everyone instant jumps on them. Then I complain about Lyon getting their game between the two Bayern games canceled so they have a whole week to just prepare for Bayern, but thats ok, Forza Lyon :howler: And people wonder why I don't post that much lately.

So, if we're into the whole fair game. Isn't it only fair that Bayern Munchen also took the bus to Lyon like Lyon took the bus to Munchen?

I know it is understandable I think, considering in what forum we are, but still what I would like is for people to at least try to be a little bit objective, just a tiny bit. Not go "whatever we do is cool, undertandable and explainable, but what rivals do is so shit" while at the same time we will probably will do the same or have already done same thigns as the rivals have done and hailed them.

And yeah that was weak move by lyon, glad they failed

Edit: Nice avatar Sab :)
Well Zac was obviously not listening to him and how can he hear him in a full stadium when he's not screaming?
Weidenfeller (keeper from Dortmund) just said in an interview that he has to scream at his back 4 because they can't hear him otherwise. And that media always gets that wrong because they only see that he's screaming and not what it is about.

Thanks:)

Yup absolutely agree:tup:

We'll see if they'll fail, they didn't had a game this weekend "because they needed to prepare"

Anyone managed to find a video of the incident. I'd like to see it again and again :D

25.04.2010 FIFTEEN YEARS LATER

Andrea Fortunato passed away 15 years ago. I didn’t play with him for a long time, just one season. I was thinking about this in the last days: so much time has passed.

Seems to be unbelievable to think that the one who is in his teen years today, by that time wasn’t even born yet. Talking about Andrea Fortunato, it could be that some of the teenagers would get curious enough to find out who he was and why he remained in the memories of a lot of people. Probably trying to google him they would come across this article from “Repubblica” of 11.07.1991. The headline is “Del Piero or Fortunato, unknown to bet on”.

Here is the report of soccer market that was held in Cernobbio. I want to quote the following: “They don’t have any title. Nobody knows them, sometimes not even the Bible of the ball, the unfailing Panini. And still it is happening : Juve or Milan or Torino end up squabbling for these Vialle in embryo, ready to make of it the matter of principle, eager to bet, up to nine zeros numbers, on the fact that these tadpoles won’t grow up to be frogs but will turn into white knights. They are twenty and they still have to make known their names.”

“Juve and Milan are fighting for the Padova centre forward. Alessandro Del Piero, still a child at his 16, is already worth 1,5 billion: he’s not afraid of penalty kicks, 38 goals scored, even if scored into the goal of Allievi, can be considered a serious promise. He was already one of the Juventus, but when black and white managers told Aggradi that they would dictate the rules, the player’s registration card went back into the briefcase. Milan is ready to pay all this money, but Juventus has the advantage, they sold Bonaiuti to Padova. But if in some days, Juventus society doesn’t write the check, baby-bomber will belong to Berlusconi.”

“The red-blue team has also bought the best C1 wing-back Andrea Fortunato, 20 years old, from Como: Atalanta was after him as well, so he came expensive. Left-handed, excellent winger to play on the flank, cross expert, able to score and to play on the right wing, he is good as a strike ras well.

Summer 1991. Two years later we met in Juventus, Boniperti bought both, having bet on the fact that those “tadpoles won’t grow up to be the frogs, but will turn into white knights”..

Now, 15 years later, thinking back to our stories, I feel really impressed.

25.04.2010 DOPO JUVE-BARI

Juventus-Bari after match statements…

As for the race for the 4th place

“We have won today and obviously we are happy as much as it is possible to be happy in our situation. Now, crossing the fingers, let’s hope we’ll play in the same way three remaining games. What we don’t have to do , even if we are oblige, is to look too much at the results of other teams. First of all, let’s think about ourselves. To get to the fourth place would be extremely tough, but we have to believe we can do it because we really want it ”.

Injures and other problems.

We’ve got a rather extraodinary injury situation, it is quite clear that our team suffered from the lack of active players , and even without trying to find an excuse it is absolutely evident that the above mentioned situation influences a lot the team perfomance. Apart from that, there are a lot of things that didn’t work, that’s why we found ourselves in the present situation. But we still have three matches to play and we have to be concentrated on these games, then we’ll have a look at the table and talk it over.

As for “no substitution”case

“No such case, I have already taken off the captain band and was heading to give it to Buffon and in that moment I noticed Marchisio on the ground, there was a confusing moment, because the substitution has been already asked for. And I was trying to show that Claudio, probably, wasn’t able to play on… After all, better like that, because it was the last substitution and if I had left the pitch, we’d have played in ten”.
