Just like this commentator tonight said: "Players come and go, but you Del Piero, you are one in a million, you will always stay in our hearts and mind, history will never forget you for hundreds of years"

He still isn't really sharp, but he's getting there.

If Juve are going to get out of the hole they've dug themselves, Del Piero is going to need to do a lot of the work.

Del Piero 'scales down' Juve

Sunday 24 January, 2010

Alessandro Del Piero concedes Juventus “must scale down the objectives for this season. The situation is serious.”

The captain scored a wonderful volley, but it was not enough to prevent last night’s 2-1 home defeat to Roma.

That result left them five points adrift of third place and potentially out of the Europa League spots after this weekend.

“We must scale down the objectives for this season. The situation is serious,” he told Juventus Channel.

“Within this game there were some good moments, but the incidents and results inevitably affect our confidence.

“It is very tough for us. Only together can we get ourselves out of this situation.

Even when asked about his marvellous strike, Del Piero’s mood could not be lifted.

“I can’t enjoy it one little bit. In the first half we did well, as Roma came here to hit us on the break.

“Then after the hour mark we dropped the tempo and lost the match.”
