I deleted your post Seven. You sure you want it back? I don't think so.

Andy red, I never tend to show any disrespect to any Juventus players out there. Actually if there's a reason I'm watching Italy it's because of our players. I haven't even watched the Spanish games and only 45min of Brazil vs Egypt.

But still, it looks much better having Juventus Captain there.

Fuck sake, not even a single player upfront was able to dribble or to have a single good vision, all they did was either sprint with the ball or pass it to the flanks waiting for a header.

Italy had over 6 Freekicks all in dangerous positions, a single Freekick from Ale would have changed everything. But no Pirlo is enough taking Fk oh and Gattuso who hasn't played a single min is really damn good to play in this tournament while Toni.... No comment.

If Italy were to play with Ale and Cassano, they'd have to play a 4-3-1-2 with Cassano behind the strikers and Ale as second striker... who'd play as the other striker? Or a straight 4-4-2 with either Ale or Cassano as the second striker...

Either Iaquinta or Pazzini (Since Amauri's passport did not finish in time).

Definitely the likes of Cassanio del piero and maybe divaio....the own gilardino (if more time given to him)...... would have been an inprove in quality from the side who got kicked out of the conf.

IM very sure you see some new (old) names in the upcoming call ups :)

Maybe lippi will get bashed for calling the old guard, but in this desperate time of underperformers and the lack of quality in italina football... there is not much lippi can do but to have faith in the oldies. And Dp being an oldie himself, like azurri7 said...would have been definitely an improve to that woeful attacking display from yesterday.

I don't think that he needs to get special attention in the season because of his age. I think he is in a good shape and can perform all season with few rests here and there.

But a rest in the summer will do good to any player.

TBH, I don't think Del Piero would have made a difference. The whole team sucked, and are rightfully out of the tournament.

I take back my earlier semi predictions. Substitue Italy for Holland.
Excellent call there ;).

It's not really hard for a player like DP to make a difference, if the people you're replacing are called Toni or Gilardino. Seldomly have I seen a player with such limited capabilities as Toni get this far at club level and in a national team. ( of a 'big' football-country ). I'm not really an Azzurri fan, because I'm not Italian, but I get annoyed when I watch people mess up with every ball they get, when one of my beloved Juventus players could be there doing their thing. :juventus:
