Didn't Ibra score two goals for one of the weakest side in the tournament, against the former champions and the current champions? Think he was second top scorer in the CL too.
Ibra didn't have a brilliant Euro, neither did Sweden. What does CL have to do with this? I was talking about the performances in the Euros in my previous comment. No doubt Zlatan deserves to be on that list and this is why I said the Euros performances is not the only criterion. Having said that, Del Piero should have been there too.

When you put it that way, yes, I agree with you.

fuck Ballon D'Or...if legends like Ale, Raul and Maldini have never won it, what does it really mean at all
They cannot give it to two players at the same time. Ale had a very brilliant season (much much better than the Ballon D'Or season of Michael Owen) but he truly wasn't rewarded only cos Ronaldo had a super brilliant season at that time. The same applies for Maldini when he failed to win this prize because of the astounding season of Nedved.

Rab, looking at ale's determination level it might be more than just one player this time. The question is, will it be enough to secure us a win or at least a good result?

If we play with the a similar formation to the one fielded last night, it will be 100% on Del Piero's shoulder to try to score and help amauri score as much as possible during 90 minutes, and we should hope we don't concede more than what he can provide for us up front.

Thats right. What bothers me also is that both Amauri and Del Piero are doing things on their own. They're getting no services man.

Looking at Del Piero yesterday, trying to control and hold the ball from the middle looking for a mate to pass the ball and try to open the space in the midfield, while Amauri looking isolated waiting for a cross or pass.

Anyway, If only Del Piero gets little bit support, I think he can finish on them Tuesday night.

One has to hail Del Piero for his role in Amauri's goal. With his movement he took with him 2-3 defenders and left Amauri with one to deal with. Simply brilliant. Its things like this that really are beyond many of those highly paid players in todays football.

Not many see this though. If you look back at the goal, It all started from him. And I saw exactly what you just described to me 100%.
