Vincenzo Montella looks like Joey from Friends.

And the Bruce springsteen similarity isnt the first time its mentionned. Though that pic isnt suitful for the task. And they share faint similarity only.

We may guess who Del Piero looks like now, but I know who he will look like when he ages, the one to the left :smoke:

Who Will Wear Italy Number 10? Don Doesn’t Care

The debate has started in Italy over who should be handed the fabled number 10 shirt for Euro 2008, but Roberto Donadoni insists that he will leave it up to his players to decide.

The number 10 shirt in Italy, as in many countries, is considered as the most prestigious number on the football field, with the jersey often handed to the most talented and creative attacking player.

Some great players have worn this shirt for the Azzurri in the past at major championships, including the likes of Gianni Rivera, Omar Sivori and Roberto Baggio.

Over the last decade or so there has always been a great debate in the build-up to World Cups and European Championships over who should be handed the shirt. In France '98 Alessandro Del Piero won the nod over Baggio, while Francesco Totti has had the number on his back for the past few tournaments.

With Totti now retired from international football, there is much talk in Italy over who should be given the number 10 for Euro 2008.

Daniele De Rossi has had the mythical symbol on his shoulders during qualifiers. It is believed that the other three candidates for the Euros are Andrea Pirlo, Antonio Cassano and Del Piero.

Italy Coach Roberto Donadoni is not fussed who is granted the honour, and says that he will have no say in the matter.

"For me it is only a number to put on the back of the shirt. I will leave it up to the boys to decide,” The Don stated.

in regards to EURO 2008, i believe that DP should stick with number 7, Pirlo should stick with 21 and leave number 10 for De Rossi.
yeah as much as i would like to see Del Piero wearing number 10 i know he won't but i still feel a forward or attacking midfielder should be wearing the number 10.

What can you say about Del Piero that hasn’t been said already? Not much. He’s what we love- a kid from rural Veneto, growing up to be one of the world’s greatest. Del Piero’s loyalty is beyond question: he unquestionably accepted going to Serie B. For a man who just won the World Cup in the prime of his career, that is truly incredible. He’s been written off by the media time and time again, but every time, he comes back even stronger to silence his critics. The all-time appearance and goal leader of the world’s greatest club, and much more than that. Recognized by the international media for both his talent and personality, Del Piero is one of the greatest players who ever lived, and will be continued to be known as such years after he hangs up his boots.

He represents everything we love about football: hard work, talent, creativity, intelligence, honesty (not a diver), calm personality, and overall a great human being. Alex is Juventus.

Finally, today, Roberto Donadoni (nearly) guarenteed that Alex will be with us in Switzerland and Austria this summer.

In a dig at the EPL (and England), I might add that he, Pinturrichio, is why I do not want massive foreign investment in Italy, he’s a homegrown superstar player. We [Serie A] can compete without paying ridiculous transfer fees, and even if we couldn’t, I’d rather have idols like Alex than Champion’s League silverware. Some might point out ManUre have many homegrown players, but those days are long gone. There will never be a class of players like Giggs, Scholes, Neville, or Beckham in one English team. Look at some of their players today- Ronaldo, Anderson, Nani, and Hargreaves. I don’t like Berlusconi’s millions distorting the market, but I respect that there is a class of Milan players who are rossoneri to the core. [Pirlo, Gattuso, Ambrosini, Maldini, etc.]
