Juventus icon Alessandro Del Piero has declared that he wants to play in the World Cup in South Africa in 2010.

The Bianconeri number 10, who is now 33, has been written off numerous times during his career, however he has continually proven the critics wrong.
After being left on the bench by Claudio Ranieri for three consecutive games against Palermo, Milan and Atalanta, many questioned whether Del Piero was now nothing more than a super-sub.
He was given his chance to shine on Saturday night against Lazio after Vincenzo Iaquinta pulled out with injury, and the Golden Boy showed that he still has what it takes after scoring two superbly taken goals in the 3-2 win.
"I would play every game if coach Ranieri can be convinced,” Del Piero said confidently.
The all-time record Juventus goalscorer has been left out of Roberto Donadoni’s Azzurri squads for October and November, and the same critics have question whether the forward may have played his last game for his country.
However Del Piero certainly does not see it that way.
"For Italy, I want to play in South Africa in 2010," he declared.
Del Boy will be 35 by that time, and it certainly seems a bold prediction, however how can you write off someone who has continuously proven his critics wrong over the past few years.
