hummm Dp played only 10 min, however I did expect a litle more effort of him, I know its very litle time to show something, but still, I wanted to see a litle more "effort"...

Anyway, lets hope he can play a litle more next game and show some class.

Del Piero entered and played on the wing. He couldn't have done anything in that time and in that position. I hope Lippi uses him instead of Gilardino who was Italy's worst player today IMO. That position could be perfect for Ale. Anyway, it doesn't matter... I want Italy to continue and win the WC.... Ale will get his minutes and most importantly a WC trophy ;) that's what important.

And he will.Lippi knows exactly what he is doing. He knows Del piero better then anyone!

I'm sure that he will give him a chance ,next time. And just to add something, the Ghanians are really difficult opponent,we past the greatest danger in the group.

P.S : ghana had two clear penalties dismissed

come on the first one was fighting for the lose ball, it would of been tough to call and second one he dove over de rossi and nesta or zaccardo. the ref was right their about 20 feet away he made the correct decisions.

Do you think there's a chance for that ? It's what should happen, but Lippi hasn't tried that in trainings ever when you think about it.

I think its very possible. He tried it against switzerland at the second time I think. But I'm not sure. Anyway, Alex deserves to start against USA to prove what he can do with more minutes in the field.

Well, I think he'll do that. I don't think he'll start Gila against the States....Gila didn't show anything today, Dp or Iaquinta I think can give better.

Look, when Tooti came off who did Lippi send on? That extremely average player Cameronesi (was he not awful?): this just shows the pecking order in Lippi's mind. The only way that Old Lovely eyes got on was because of an enforced substituition late on caused by injury.

Ghana was denied one penalty. Italy were denied a goal (they really would have scored when they not only Toni and Iaquinta but also Camoranesi was alone on goal) and a red card (for the awful Kuffour tackle when Iaquinta was nowhere near an offside position). Gyan should have also received a second yellow for his dive. Awful refereeing, I agree, but Italy were even more disadvantaged than Ghana.

The De Rossi challenge was a penalty IMO. He clearly pushed the guy with his arms.

The second one wasn't a penalty, the guy looked for the contact himself and dived before he was even really touched.

And Kuffour should have been expelled immediatly for that horrible challenge. and it wasn't offside.

I don't like criticising refs, I understand their job is very hard, but this one was a bit dodgy.

In the end, no team was clearly advantaged, but that doesn't really make it ok, is it?

Anyway, solid performance for the Azzuri. I hope they're gonna grow in this tournament, until the final. And Del Piero should start ahead of Gilardino/

Good notes for Cannavaro, Toni, Pirlo. Lesser notes for Totti (obviously) and Gila.
