If Del Piero leaves Juve, Juve will start to suck and won't win the Scudetto for a while, I'm sure of it. But... for his sake, I hope he leaves if he's not guarrantted a lot of playing time.
i hate to say this mate but when alex retires we will be worse off in terms of personality and passion. however juventus will continue to shine, win championships and a new darling of the crowd will emerge. this i know because it is football, did the fans ever think we could replace platini? did we think we could ever replace baggio?when ciro ferarra left i was concerned but look at how canavarro has grown into the role as defensive lynchpin at juve. when our geat caaptain leaves i will shed a few tears but then i will rejoice for everything he gave the club and i will embrace the player who eventually takes his place in our hearts

No doubt Juve will continue to be great and win dozens of titles in the future, but I predit Juve will fall into a short slump... Just like Juve went through before Del Piero came. It's no coincidence Juve won 6 (and maybe 7 this season) Scudetti with Del Piero. And it's only natural that at some point Juve will stop winning them for awhile. If you remember, the pause in the championships was after Del Piero's injury. There will be a longer pause this time in my opinion, this is a prediction.

Tuttosport.....

Tuttosport went on today stating that Juventus Captain Del Piero is really starting to think of leaving the Club and the reason is simply Fabio Capello. Fans in Turin wont like this news but It's clear that there's nothing they can do. Del Piero has been the best Juventus player this season yet he didn't manage to convince Don Fabio for a pole position shirt. Tuttosport went also to clear that If Del Piero was to leave Juventus he'll never be wearing any other Italian Jersey.

I think It would be better for Capello to go to hell.

i concur, our best player this year, the most decisive player in serie a last term and the heartbeat of our team, we must hold on to alex at all costs till he can give no more

it will be a sad day when the captain leaves the club, but juve is bigger than any player.

abt cap and alex leaving before retirement , well i think that cap wants to go into the history books as the one that who drove an "icon" away.
Everyone remembers Lippi cuz hes the one who benched the GREAT Robby Baggio in favour of alex. the good thing back then was that a legend was being benched and a legend was being born. In our situation here a legend is being benched for a nobody to emerge( i hope i eat my words in the future, if zlatan becomes a great player)

Sure Juventus will always to continue grabbing titles and trophies after Dp retires just like other Legends did in the Club. But the thing is that I can't see someone that realloy deserve #10 in his absence after he'll hang up his boots.

I've always thought that numbers 10 in Juventus was born for him. It fits him, suits him not to forget that to hold this number you'll always have to be class just like he's always been in and off the pitch.

You always need a champions like him in the team.

Sure no player is bigger than the club, I agree. But Del Piero IMHO is much bigger than someone called Don Fabio. And I really don't think It would a such a good Idea for Capello to really try to drive him out of the Club. He'll be doing no goods in his book and god knows how much hate he'll be recieving till the last day of his life.

I again agree with you sateeh. The thing in 1994 was much diff from now. I wouldn't be as sad as I'm now If I was to see Del Piero benched BUT to have a born Legend as you said that can replace his shoe, Infact what we're witnessing is something else. A legend being benched for the sake of the Coach and his doll called Zlatan.

yes juve will definitely have a new hero after del piero leaves but he is no.1 in my heart until i die...just like how platini was for the juve fans in the 80s and how there will be a new hero for the next generation. i will admire other players but there will be no one as great as del piero in my book
