I respect DP immensely and he will always be one of my favorite players but if he uses Juve like that then he can just leave. I don't want to lose another Mutu...because DP wanted a starting spot and his 5m €/year. The guy is getting old and won't be better.

Come on DP, cut those wages and accept the fact that you'll have to give your starting spot to someone else.

Exactly.

even though hes my fav player i loved juve because of him but if the board dont show him respect then why staying? hes playing the last 2 years of top football and he dont want to be treaten like he already finished, i know hes losing his speed but since when he uses his speed? i think after the injury in 98 he lost half of his speed so he played 9 years with the half of the speed he got since that injury and the ppl who think hes finished always backing him after like how he did with torino when he make some of his smart and magical dribbling and i dont see any 32 years old footballer doing that kind of dribbles....
Alex is spacial player and have to be treaten as a spacial

After all we have been through if Juventus allow Del Piero to leave the club's soul and identity will be lost forever. Del Piero has represented Juventus in the modern era and with him leaving whatever image of glory and greatness we have left goes with him. He must remain ... losing him would be worse than losing Buffon, Nedved and Trez combined. Because he is more than a player he is the Symbol of Juventus and has one of the best best images in football.

Milan would also have a Trident consisting of Del Piero, Ronaldo and Kaka. That would win them another CL for sure.

I feel people here are taking Ale for granted and have forgotten just how good he is. Most fans in other teams would love to have him in their starting line up and he could just walk in to the starting 11.

I love Juve and it is true no player is bigger than the club but Ale is as close as you can get and if he leaves I will still love Juve but I know for a fact I will feel a lot less emotion towards them.

I just hope the management comes to it's senses and does not make the biggest mistake in the history of our great club

Its overreaction and a couple quotes taken too literally.

Renewals take time, and a lot of bullshit gets tossed around in nearly every single one.

Barzagli and Rosina were sure to leave for big money... that is of course until their teams extended their contracts.

Trezeguet, Buffon and Camoranesi were as good as gone, but wait, they signed contracts.

This is a tough negotiation cause its the last contract Del Piero will sign as a player. Juventus clearly only wants him for two more years, because after that, its time for Palladino and/or Giovinco to take his place. Del Piero wants three years.

As for money, Juventus always seems to start low and end up in a decent place.

My bet, he's signed by November for a 2 year deal making as much as Nedved.

FFS, what's with all these silly posts?

Since when Del Piero threatens a club? or you people will start believing bullshits now?

Ale has never threatend Juventus, not even in his worst days, so get off the boy's back ffs. All of you know that he's not the type of player to threat his beloved club.

whoever believe this shit that Alex is threating Juventus, is most probably sick.

Secco and his friends, should get the fuck out of Juve's door, I respected them at first, tried to give them the support as Juve's fan, but treating someone like Ale this way is over the limit.

Don't let this all get to you, Azzurri. Contract negotations are always a lot of hot air. If it was really that bad, Del Piero's agent would not be so cordial still. I expect behind closed doors there's a lot of respect and its just a tough negotiation. Del Piero has done so much for this team in play, goodwill and marketing, and its tough to put a number on this while recognizing that Juventus' all time leading scorer (and likely all time most capped player) is in decline. He's not going to Milan or anywhere. He'll be signed very soon.

I'm sick of people criticizing this man, i'm sick of people sticking thier nose into his wages and showing their pain as if they're paying his wages. I'm sick to see Juventus captain and fans idol being always attacked. He's a human ffs, you have some members here instead of showing some support, they go bashing the man.

I know he's not going to Milan, and It feels sad to see some people believing that BS.

Secco is just fucking retarded, he did the same thing with Mauro, Pavel , David, Chiellini and gigi....and now with Alex.

All these players were on the verge of existing the club, and i can still remmber all of us criticizng the board for their behaviours with these players, now that it's Alex turn and not that it's our folks here the posters are paying Ale's wages, it's time to bash and finish on the player with all these posts :wallbang:

I agree, too many people here are reactionary about Del Piero. He's started off a little slow, he is getting older, but he's still a player than most teams in Europe would love to have, and he's done so much for the team.

While I wish all contract negotations with the key players could be harmonious, this is not always the case. I think Secco was given a mandate to try and offer low first to see if anyone would bite. That's just good negotiation, so long as the initial offer isn't so insulting, it pushes the player away. While Secco and the new board are no geniuses, they'll do the right thing. Ranieri will probably force it.

Like I said, if there was an actual lack of respect, Del Piero and his brother would have walked away from the table permanently.

Agreed.

Secco should also figure out that in-order to motivate Alex more and make him performe better, first step should be renewing his contract. I hope he does this, because so far we're doing good in the table and i don't really wish tension would take any place, as this isn't any good for us.

Spot on. It must be players and us (fans) keeping ADP in because some of out board seem like right spaz's. The sooner he puts pen to paper, the sooner he can feel comfortable about his future and get some motivation for this season.

what I miss right now is a person in the juve board, who comes out and says.. there is not problem with ale.. Ale is the most important player in juve history. all problems will be cleared internaly. the relationship between juve and ale is much bigger than any other thing.

Del Piero stated many times, his main concern is not the money.. The club wants to give him a 1 year extension, he wants 2. You can't blame the guy for wanting to secure his football career.

All the people that are saying that Del Piero should take a pay cut must have forgot just like the board the he has already taken two pay cuts for the club and has come out and said he will resign for less money than he is making now. But the main problem is the board is offering him less money than Nedved who is also two years older than Del Piero. The board is handling this poorly just like the rest of the contract renewals.

Add to that, he accepted a 3rd pay cut, but not to the limit of 30%!what do they want more?!!!
