scoring the 200th goal at home is better than scoring it away.so i was secretly hoping that he doesnt score in the last two matches:D
Hehe:D
But why? He had to score the goal, ealiest as posible, 'I know', when have scoren(?) the goal, all the team will rise again, but its nice that he now have the chance to score it at home, so I see you point! But remember that the team is more important, than one player, cause DP is a great player, but he would be much more bad'er without the team behind him!

Btw. He is still the Best!

Del Piero set for new deal Wednesday 25 October, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus are ready to offer Alessandro Del Piero a new contract, confirmed Bianconeri President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli.

Del Piero, who is a symbol for the Turin outfit and proved his loyalty to the club by choosing to stay despite the demotion to Serie B, is currently contracted until 2008.

However, the Old Lady’s chief was eager to state that discussions are underway to extend the deal.

“Del Piero will never be a problem for Juve,” said Cobolli Gigli, who was elected to the Lega Calcio Council as representative of the Serie B clubs on Tuesday, along with Bologna chief Alfredo Cazzola.

“He’s a player with personality and he won’t be distracted by all the talks about his 200th goal, which has not yet arrived.

“Alessio Secco and Jean-Claude Blanc are talking to Del Piero and will continue to do so until we can find a solution.

“I do not see problems – in the end the relationship is strong,” concluded the official.

Del Piero is chasing club goal No 200, but the striker insists that he is not focusing on this personal landmark.

“The next goal will arrive. I have already scored 199, I have no problems in having scored one more or one less,” said Pinturicchio.

“Why was I replaced against Triestina? You have to ask Deschamps that,” commented the world champion.

Del Piero should stop worrying about his 200th goal. It'll come. No need to focus on it. At this point in time Juventus has to keep on winning and anything that may distract a player from making the right decision every time he touches the ball should be put aside as soon as possible.

I don't think Ale is really focusing that much on it, as much as press and media are giving it lot of attension and tension. They should let him play on his own and stop writting on their papers about the 200 goals. But then again, Media can never get the divorce paper from Del Piero.

Agree with you, Italian papers are just like that.. They are puting too much pressure with their columns and oracles. They must leave him and whole team to play normally - without this pressure.

I think more than alex is the team that is disturbed because of the 200th goal.
All are playing for alex . And is natural because Alex is special for his partners. Guys like nedved camo or buffon have played with him for years and considered him a friend and a leader. On the other hand kids like Chiellino or Paro grew up watching alex on tv just like us and for them is a icon, a true idol.
May be in the last games it wasnt good for the team , but is the prize you pay for having a living football legend playing for the team. And for me it worth it.:agree:

You're right about the media Rab...but I'm sure that ale is really focused on scoring that goal, you can tell it by looking again to last two matches. You can see that he has been really focused on scoring. Its my opinion...of course

Yeah didn't he say something about it? I can understand his excitement but like I said in that thread patience is a virtue. He has tonnes more games to play. It will come.

Oh here it is:

Alessandro Del Piero is unhappy at his substitution and inability to hit the 200-goal mark, but Didier Deschamps tried to reassure the Juventus hero.
