ale said some nice words about ronaldo..class as usual. I just watched the press conference in which he explained why he is retiring..i had tears in my eyes
"His announcement yesterday struck me, but didn't surprise me. Unfortunately to take this decision for him were the injures he suffered from in the last years of his career. Another absolute stand out to mention is Marco Van Basten, bad luck prevented all of us who love football (me included) to see on the pitch the valiance of these "monsters".

But what Ronaldo did, will stay in the history of football and in the hearts of those who love sport forever, no matter what is their favorite jersey color, what team they support or what flags they carry. Players like Ronaldo belong to everyone.

It was moving to hear Ronaldo saying during his farewell press-conference of farewell, in tears, the phrase 'it feels like dying' because a part of him is going away, a part of, Ronaldo, a football player. But, fortunately, new life is about to start now.

Thanks for what you have done on the pitch and for being a great opponent, Stand out!"

Wow, they are really trying to get down his wages. I've heard something about 1 mill a year.

But then again, he wouldn't play half of what he is playing today if we get healthy forwards.

That would be a disgrace as his wages will be less than the likes of Storari, Motta, Pepe, and Martinez (no offense to them). His wages are not that high to begin with. Roma are fucked up financially and Totti still and will earn around 5 mill for the next 3 years or so. Alex on the other hand is earning 4 mill, and I think is willing to go down to around 2 mill. There shouldn't be a problem regarding his contract. We'll see how it goes.
