I totally agree with you, ZAF.
I wanna see the substitutes play as well and I guess you're right when you say you can't say anything about the substitutes since they really haven't played yet.
But my post was directed to those who write that Zlatan is selfish, that he should have scored there, that Del Piero still is one of the best in the world and so on...
The season just started and Capello is relaying on Zlatan and Trez at the moment. And I'm sure it will look the same in march.
To me Mutu should be the third option, Zalayeta fourth and Del Piero fifth.
To win Lo Scudetto and the Champions League, you've got to rotate the squad. But you also have to play your best players as often as possible.
I think Zlatan and Trezeguet are the best strikers,
consequence: They play when they are fit to play.
I also agree 100% with the world cup. I surely want a well Zlatan when it's time for Sweden to surprise the whole world next summer:).

Europe's biggest clubs are on red alert after Juventus director Lapo ElkanElkann's amazing outburst is the latest episode in Del Piero's long-running saga of his on-off future at Juve.
Only last week, it emerged Juve had been in contact with Arsenal intermediaries encouraging them to bid for the Italy internationaln slated Alessandro del Piero yesterday.

Only problem with that is:

why would anyone bid (or at least, bid the maximum) until they've seen him play?

Juve would certainly be giving him starts if they wanted to sell him, to increase his value.

Jocke27,
Since we lost the CL final against Milan, Zlatan was one of those players I wished Juve would capture. One of my friends who is also both Juve and DP fan was like but we have Del Piero they kinda play in the same role. Plus we have Miccoli (who was already known that he is coming back from the loan). I was still convinced that Zlatan was too good to be missed. A player that young, ~21 at that time, with such a great talent and presence shouldn't be missed. And if he is playing regularly at a great club like Ajax then he is a very promissing player (I have huge trust in Ajax's youth).
My wish came a year later. Along with Capello, who was my second favourite coach after Lippi.
Anyway to make story short, Ibrahimovic is a great talent. He is a terrific strong talented player BUT he has still to mature about certain things. He still miss uses his talent by delaying the ball, missing easy shots, not working as a team when he should to ..etc
Now our complaints are from Capello not subbing him when he is not playing well. On the other hand, Del Piero last season was subbed on various occassions when he was doing well. From here the frustrations came out. Ofcourse the media had a field day out of everytime Alex misses a shot or miss pass a ball or miss dribbles. This was like a spark in a tank filled gasoline. This is why I stand now sayinig that we should ignore any bad comments about Del Piero from the press, not just for the sake of Alex, but for the sake of Juve. I believe if we start by small communities to show the press that we don't give a **** about what they say and that we will always support Alex and Juve, there will come a point when all this will stop.
I agree about the part that Zlatan is young and fresh and should play as often as possible because he represents the future that Juve may rely on one day. But I totally disagree about saying that Del Piero is the past and that he has past his time ..etc. Del Piero is the present. He is still give Juve alot. Being Juve's seasonal top scorer last year without playing alot is not your everyday acheivement (mind you he was injured so he had to come back from an injury). I still think Del Piero should play regularly in a rotation manner to save both Del Piero and Zlatan's energy to last as long as possible. I also believe that both can play along side each other. We have acheived alot last season when those two were paired with each other upfront.

Capello relays alot on Zlatan in the offensiv tactics.
It's obvious that Juve has changed gear a little bit since Zlatan came.
I don't think that Del Piero and Zlatan is a good match-up.
Sure, they played a couple of good games together last season but to me, they're too much alike.
They both want to receive the ball with the back to the opponents goal.
The difference, I think is that Del Piero wanna receive it a bit further down than Zlatan.
This generates that it's much easier for Trez to cooperate with Zlatan in the offense when they play together and he isn't as isolated as he can become when he plays with DP.
I'm sure I'm stabbing myself in the back now, but to me Del Piero is finished.
I saw practically all Juve games last season and I wasn't impressed with DP, at all.
He scored 14 goals but first of all a couple of them was assisted by Zlatan (which contradicts my previous statement that DP and Zlatan doesn't fit together:)). Second of all, a couple of them where penalties(don't know how many).
And third of all I don't think he had an especially good season.
I'm surprised to see that people who want to see DP in the starting-11, criticises Zlatan for losing the ball in unnecessary positions.
I thought DP did that all season long last year.
Well, I'm sure the discussion will go on.
I'm just happy I've joined this forum so that I have as passionate people to bounce opinions to.

Juventus - Ascoli 3-0. Ibrahimovic 2, Nedved 1.
