Pinturicchio puts Europe’s top competition as the main priority for Juventus’ new season.
Alessandro Del Piero outlined the objectives of the Old Lady for the upcoming season during the first day of the Bianconeri’s summer camp.

"The primary objective will be the Champions League. Now we must put the past season behind our backs, even though the last four months were fantastic."
The Juve captain is also looking forward to the 2006 World Cup.

"Obviously the national team is an important thing for me. I target the World Cup: I will have to do well with Juventus, and the rest will come by itself."

Alessandro Del Piero has urged his Juventus teammates to start the new season in the same manner that they ended the last campaign.

Despite winning Lo Scudetto, the Bianconeri have made some classy additions to the squad and Del Piero believes it is up to the current players to pass on their winning mentality.

“Our competitive attitude is always the same and we’ll try to have it from the very beginning, to keep on winning,” said the Juve skipper.

“Last season ended in a great way and we have what it takes to repeat ourselves.

“We’ll be playing on three fronts and it’s the Coppa Italia which is our first target,” he joked. “In fact, we haven’t won it for a long time.”

And who would be the biggest rivals to Juve’s crown? “Milan has an outstanding attack, made of great players, but Inter too is a well equipped team,” he added.

“On paper, the Scudetto race will be reserved to us and the Milan clubs but, as always, what happens on the pitch will reveal the truth.”
