Del Piero to pen Juve extension
Thursday 16 July, 2009

The captain will turn 35 in November and could well have a future in Ciro Ferrara’s Coaching staff in Turin.

Diego has been signed to essentially replace Alex and during yesterday’s opening friendly of the summer he played in the trequartista role due to the Brazilian’s absence.

These last bits are just stuff that the journalist has made up.

No need for them.

Apparently I tought my friend well ..

He was wearing a Juventus Jersey (which I got it for him lol) when a guy came up to him saying "nice jersey, but we all no who will win the championship next season, its Inter. They are the strongest".

My friend looked back at him and replied "why is that? Do they have Del Piero? No. then they are not stronger than Juventus. And don't come up to me saying Ibra his better, because he simply isn't. When Ibra was in Juventus Del Piero proved that he is 10x times the player Ibra will ever be. In brief Ibra is an idiot"
LOL LOL
The guy was in shock did not know what to say and simply left LOL..

"I can confirm my happiness and my pride with this agreement and to be here for a further year. It's a great motivation for me as I have always worked hard and i have the will to do my best,"
"I am at one of the biggest club's in Europe and I am delighted. It was a quick deal. I want to turn more pages with the club.

"I hope I can continue to play well. I was hoping for the renewal and I was expecting it as I know the deep will of this club to be first and I thought there would be no problems with the renewal and I have always had trust from the club."
I am impressed and proud of Juventus. We have done well on the market. Now we have to work hard and ensure we have a good season,"

"Will I retire after 2011? No, I will be here then like I am now and we will see what happens when we get to that stage," added the Italian.

"World Cup? I have not heard from Lippi. It would be nice going to the World Cup as it would mean I would have had a good season and I would have the chance to defend the trophy with my national side, but it's Lippi's decision."

Del Piero: My Juventus future Friday 17 July, 2009

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alessandro Del Piero celebrates his contract extension by looking forward to “at least two more” successful years at Juventus.

The captain penned a new deal tying him to the club until June 30 2011 and held a Press conference at the Pinzolo training ground.

“I had been waiting for this for a while and wanted it very much,” he said. “Negotiations were very quick, as we immediately reached an agreement.

“I am happy at Juventus and we are competitive. I want to keep playing for as long as I can and I’m certain that for at least two more years I will be at the top level.”

Del Piero is a hero to the fans and stuck with Juve even after their demotion to Serie B, winning back-to-back Capocannoniere titles.

Now he hopes the Bianconeri can take that final step and win the Scudetto after bringing in Diego, Felipe Melo and Fabio Cannavaro.

“This squad has immense quality. In a one-off game we can beat anybody, so the next step will be to lead the rest of the pack throughout a group phase, a championship or a Cup tournament.

“We made huge sacrifices to strengthen the side and are the second top investors in the market after Real Madrid. That is fact.”

There were fears Cannavaro would be drummed out of the club after returning from Real Madrid amid controversy, but the defender begun pre-season training without incident.

“It is down to him to win back the faith of the fans with a great season. I don’t think he’ll have problems, as he is a real champion and has the total support of all his teammates.”

If Del Piero is still a focal point for Juventus, the same cannot be said of Italy, as he has not been called to the Nazionale under Marcello Lippi’s second reign.

“I have not spoken to Lippi yet,” confessed Alex. “It would be wonderful to go to the World Cup and defend the title we won in 2006, especially as being there would mean I’d had a great season with Juve.

“We’ll have to wait and see what Lippi’s choices are.”
