Rubinho does Alex homework
Wednesday 12 November, 2008

Genoa goalkeeper Rubinho has been studying Alessandro Del Piero ahead of Thursday's trip to Juventus.

The Grifone are in rude health as they travel to Turin to face the in-form Old Lady, but they are wary of the threat posed by Del Piero.

The Juve skipper has been lethal with set-pieces over the last few weeks and his latest masterpiece set the Bianconeri en route to victory over Chievo last weekend.

“I have the greatest respect for Del Piero,” Rubinho told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“He isn't just one of the strongest players in the Italian championship, he has also become a charismatic leader.

“Alex is the real superstar of this Juventus side and he is able to make the difference on and off the pitch.

“We need to maintain our concentration until the very last minute if we are to stop him.

“I have prepared for this game as any other, but I have been analysing Del Piero and his free-kicks with special attention.

“The thing that is unique about his free-kicks is the unpredictability, but I think I can deal with that.”

I think If Del Piero scores a Freekick tomorrow, then It's enough. Either we clone him or name the stadium after him. One of them.
I think it's already enough. The stadium should be named after him no matter what happens against Genoa. He's a living legend that's done enough, any normal human being would have been satisfied with scoring the two-hundred goals and started to enjoy life and its luxuries. Not Ale, he still wants to reach impossible objectives, break every record there is to break, destroy Real supreme class, and remain Juve's saviour untill the very end.

i think about the older juventus fans...when scirea or bettega played...if they were hoping (and i think they were sure) the delle alpi name would be changed in one of those 2 players name.

I'm not a fan of stadia being named after living people.

.
Why not? Just because it's uncommon doesn't mean it shouldn't be done. I mean, what greater reward can any player ask. Do we have to wait untill a person dies before we can show him our gratitude and appreciation.

I think after Ale retires from professional football. Juve's stadium should forever be named "Alessandro Del piero". Nothing else would do him justice.

Naming a city, town square, a stadium or something big after living people is pure communism. Worthy of Stalin, Tito or Mao Zedong :D

Seriously, after Del Piero dies Juve's stadium will carry his name. That's a sure bet. But it's silly naming the stadium after someone who's still alive, who may be the coach or the general director of the team that plays on a stadium that carries his name.
