I don't understnd this attack on Del piero. People seem to forget he is a striker, and whe a striker doesn't get any service, there is very little he can do.
Del piero remains a threat to any defense and he always has moments of magic even if he is off-form. Tonight the difference between Ale and IQ was that IQ got the opportunities while Ale didn't.
I don't see how we can drop him from the starting 11, putting this guy on the bench takes a considerable amount of quality from Juve's starting 11. He offers a lot to the team even at this stage.
He did get service and he had a lot of opportunities; while it's true that he was blameless at times and things just weren't working, at other times he seemed a bit reluctant to pass on the ball to others. On a whole, yes, the team just didn't seem to connect, but to say that he got no service at all is pretty delusional.
Most people know how invaluable Alex is and wouldn't go around suggesting we bench "the old man" and telling him to move to Galaxy.
On a different note, @ Rab, I respect your opinions, I do. A lot of times you voice what I'm thinking and I'm so, so glad there's someone to stand up for Alex no matter what kind of game he's had. I wish I could be like that, but my head rules my heart.
Sometimes, though, he needs the criticism. He was a tad selfish. No, I don't think he needs to be benched, but I do think he needs to watch his game. Yes, he will answer his critics again, with a vengeance. And no, I'm not trying to pick up an argument. Please don't take this the wrong way, I just thought I should say something after your mention of "some posters" who don't know what they're saying.
