552 matches, wearing the same shirt. This number contains my memories. It tells about my victories, but unfortunately also about the defeats. A lot of hugs, tears, sometimes the feeling to be dejected, euphoria, suffering, anger, happiness and pride. This has been always my passion, since the first time I touched the ball. All in all, big part of my life.

552 matches, wearing the same shirt.
This number means a lot to me, all the big records I'm gathering in this part of my career. But they don't mean everything, because I have always thought that it's not enough just to reach your goals, the way you reach them isn't less important.

552 matches, wearing the same shirt. I have got to the top in the Juventus history with Gaetano Scirea. That's exactly what I mean when I say the way you reach your aim is important. The way Gaetano Scirea did it. Sometimes I ask myself what do young guys or boys see in me. And I think I would like that they see in me what I saw in him. I'm talking about the man and not only the extraordinary player. That what it means for me to enter people hearts and leave something what is just more than numbers.

552 matches , wearing the same shirt. I have got to the top and I'm proud of it. I stop to have a look who is next to me, the same captain band on the arm. Always with the Juventus, and only with our Juventus. My name's next to that of Scirea, and this is nice. I just want to remember him before going on.

552 matches, I have come up to here. I keep on looking forward to the beginning of the next one, the one I have still to play. Wearing the same shirt.

He was pretty disappointed at his missed chances. We should all know better how he feels. A true Juventus player with the opportunity to truly rape Inter and yet couldn't seize it would really hurt him.
At the end it was Ranieri and Camoranesi who went up to console him :D

Nobody blames you Del Piero. You have already raped them more than enough so don't take it too hard on yourself. :p

Del Piero is always Del Piero... This is fact that people by now should know. He is the most feared player any defender can face.

The difference between Ronadinho/Ibrahimovic style and Del Piero is simple, those two are clowns, a group of show-no-go players while Del Piero is proven quality for 15 years.
Del Piero dribbles towards the goal (ask anyone who plays football it is the most difficult thing to do) while the pair make their show on the side (a relatively easy thing to do, you just need some techincality and speed).

He makes difficult stuff look so easy and he makes them without putting an effort. Thats why he is the most talented player in todays football.

Totally AGREE. The difference between alex and those clowns is what makes alex a LEGEND and the others just players.

We can see that today when after the game camoranessi first, pessotto later and also ranieri as we can see in the pic came over him to make him feel better, he was clearly upset for the goals he missed and the bad free kicks in the last games.
His constant look for excellence make him a legend, a champion and a model to follow for young players, while the others are just stars for the moment.... Let ´s see in 2 years where is Cristiano Ronaldo, for example...

check out that look on DP's face. That's the look of a guy that is determined to rip through a mountain. That is the look that puts terror in Defenders' hearts. No wonder Materazzi had the pussy look on his face all night (as seen in the pic) He never knew what hit him.

I'm disappointed for Del Piero. He deserved to be on the score sheet. His performance tonight was brilliant, but that goal would have been the icing on the cake.

In Del Piero we trust.

Del Piero awaits Don call Sunday 23 March, 2008

Alessandro Del Piero reveals Roberto Donadoni did not call to explain why he was left out of the Italy squad against Spain.

“He called me last time. In any case, the Coach knows me well and will then make his decision. I hope to be there, too.”

In previous occasions when the Juventus captain had been left off the Azzurri list, the Coach had called to explain his decision.

The fact he has not been in contact when unveiling the squad for Wednesday’s friendly test with Spain suggests Del Piero’s chances of entering Euro 2008 are very slim.

Yet he is on fine form and repeatedly ran rings around Marco Materazzi in last night’s 2-1 victory away to Inter.

“We cannot have regrets about how the season has gone. We must always give our all in every game and not think about what could have been,” continued Del Piero.

“It is only right to aim for the top, but now we can look above and below us in the standings. Balance is needed.”

Third place appears to be under lock and key, but Juventus are confident of catching Roma in second too.

Alex has matched Juve legend Gaetano Scirea’s club record of 552 official games in a Bianconeri jersey.

“I could have celebrated it with a goal, but I wasted such a great chance. It was a good move with David Trezeguet and a shame I really messed that up.”

Juve were already leading when Del Piero exchanged passes repeatedly with Trezeguet on the counter only to fire straight at Julio Cesar.
