good first half, the best in a while

2nd half was shit though, we created almost nothing

squad isn't in a great physical shape, and positioning can be random. the goal we conceded reminded me of sarri's jj (terrible at both posts) and post bremer injury mottaventus. it sounds crazy but we're missing gatti for aerial duels. mentality improved a bit

forza tudor. there's a hungarian saying that you can't build a castle from shit (the equivalent of you can't polish a turd), he's still trying and it's not looking worse so far

He's improved us. We actually look organised, are showing a bit of aggression and playing faster. The lack of quality in the players is clear though. Kelly, Veiga, Weah, McKennie, Gonzalez and Vlahovic all look massively limited, and all hold us back at times in different moments throughout the game.

I liked how we started the game. We were really positive and aggressive in a tough place to go.

I didn't like some of his subs. We noticeably fell off once Koop and Kolo Muani came on. Yildiz looked knackered from around 60 minutes and should have come off. McKennie into CM also didn't work because his use of the ball isn't good enough. We'd maybe have been better having Koop in CM and McKennie playing in Koop's role.

I'd have liked to have seen Conceicao, he pretty much always creates at least one chance and would have thought he would have done well against either Roma fullback.

Yeah, whats the most apparently is that we arent not all over the place during oppossition counter, we rebuild the formation pretty well. The attack is still toothless but there are signs of improvement too.

Mckennie had a great chance but a quality player would have tried to dribble the incoming Roma defender and then shoot.
He took the direct approach and failed miserably .
:agree:

That was a really big chance. He didn't even need to dribble, even just taking a touch to create an angle would have been enough, it was obvious a straight shot would be blocked.

Dusan is basically going through the motions and Kolo Muani showing his psg form.
He should be nowhere near starting 11. Completely useless at everything atm. At this point he is doing more harm to the team. Doesnt help that Kolo dropped off after fantastic start. That being said, this is poor and talentless team, probably the worst one since 2010/11 season. Id keep 3-4 players. Everyone else is up for sale if the offer arrives.

one thing that worked in the first half was the cb's joining the attacks and even entering the roma penalty area. for the first 20 minutes it caught roma completely off guard, we should have scored a goal or two in that period. i hope we improve the formula for the next few game, it looked like a promising idea, especially after seeing motta's team running out of ideas around the opposition box

Jurry is still out for Tudor. After unconvincing win against Genoa, and tbh he didnt didnt have much time to work with a team, draw against Roma, our direct competitor, while being better team most of the match is a positive result. However, unless we start beating inferior teams in the coming weeks and comfortably secure CL spot, he should not stay after this season ends. I have my doubts even then. After we would hopefully sack Giuntolli, Id prefer more experienced coach. Lets see how this one goes.
