That would've been sexy

These little one twos near the box are encouraging to see, once every starts clicking it will be good to watch

This does raise an interesting question though
Higuain is perfect for this, instead of Icardi wouldnt it be better to keep him and have Kean as backup/Dybala an option for that falso nueve spot?
Part of me thinks we will start Dybala with Higuain being his back up

What's the fascination with one touch passing our way to nothing like playing some cheap knock off tiki taki FFS

Give this team at least one or two months and see where we are.

Actually i see some positive and promising things that would be amazing by the time the league starts.

I expect a much better second half from us. It was obvious Sarri didn't analyze Inter and only went for dictating the tempo.

It will take some time before we're even close to playing the kind of football Sarri likes.

Inital observations from the first half:

- Two strikers can't co-exist in this system. Ronaldo/Higuain/Mandzukic needs to be flanked by pure wingers. Only one of the three can play at a time. Preferable CR7.
- Chiesa would make difference in a game like this
- Bernardeschi on a 1-1 against a pacy fullback will always result in him cutting inside
- Matuidi is not suited for Sarriball. Currently he's used kinda like Kante, only Kante can actually play short passing in high pressure. Matuidi can't.
- De Ligt & Bonucci partnership looks interesting. Both are great passers. Could become great.
- De Sciglio is considered good at defending. On set pieces he looks clueless though.
- Cancelo is blistering fast. But why is he not going more forward?
- Rabiot will be the first midfielder on the lineup card in no time. Great player.

I know its a friendly but we looked truly terrible out there. Completely outplayed. We cant seem to string more than a few passes together and if our press fails we are outnumbered. Horrible so far.
Classic Conte, though. Grind out possession and run tirelessly.

Only saw the last 30 minutes of the first half.

What I saw was, to put it mildly, dispiriting.

The build up play was not only laboured but lacking in cohesion. Inter look sharp and their passing is precise and penetrative.

It will be of some interest to see how long Sarri takes to change both the modus operandi and who is to be introduced to help restore a sense of pride.

If he does little I can see us losing by two or three goals.

Overall not much pace also, seems like some players are certain to be starters in the season already and don't need to compete for a spot in the starting XI.
