The only reason I could see them saying that was it was Spain's first time winning, but that makes no sense since it would have been true for Holland too.
Oh no, they would have tried to throw all the dirt you can imagine to holland in case they had won, just because they played "boring defensive football" and the only ones who play true football are barcelona/spain hence it was a victory for football. It makes me sick, really.

literally everything the spanish players did was like it was magic for the commentators here, when iniesta fucked up that chance the commentator was still tickling his balls over it.

fuck them, let them play whatever football they want, if any of the other teams were up to scratch spain wouldnt have won it this year.

Pure speculation.
They already said before the game that holland had lost regardless of the result cause they "betrayed" themselves and football. The press is really biased towards the spanish atleast over here.

Where is "over here"?
Well considering that all the effing commentators agreed on direct tv you could say that Argentina,Chile,Colombia,Venezuela better said, whole latin america agreed.

Looking at the other comments, apparently it's a common thing in the press, regardless of the nationality.

Crap: there is art in defensive football, as many Italian sides have shown, but what the Dutch played yesterday was dirty football. Like it or not that is a fact that they should be ashamed of. Better to have lost trying to win, rather than trying to kick the other team.

Total football has been tarnished from the Dutch image.

Funny thing about the Barca players. Once the euphoria of a Spanish victory wears off they return to their idea that Catalonia is not Spain. Hypocrisy.
Yes and no. It's not as simple as that. Not everyone from Catalonia wants independence, most want to be some sort of autonomous region within Spain. And not all players from Barcelona are from Catalonia by the way. Iniesta for example isn't.

Not in Belgium or Holland. Lots of criticism towards the Spanish here. A victory for football.. ridiculous. How could you come up with that?

The people that believe that sham was a victory for 'Football' should take a closer look at such styles of play and the behaviour of both teams a realise that if they still hold said opinion then they aren't fans of football as a sport, but as a media cricus, where the agenda is set by marketing and clueless pundits.

Subscribers to the 'attractive football' propaganda, sincerely fuck you.

You are what is wrong with modern football.

I was actually glad when Inter won in the Champions League against Barcelona because that was a victory for Football. People have this messed up mentality that football is all about posession. Give me counterattacking football anyday.
Had Robben scored that first 1 on 1, where Sneijder launched him, I reckon only few people would've praised us for neutralizing Spain and hurting them with a counter, 'Inter style'.

In all fairness, it wouldn't have been a bad result looking at the game either, even though Spain had more possession. But there's always people who only like one kind of football, mainly since watching Barca in recent times.

It's like you commit a crime against the whole world when you don't play like them. It's stupid.
