I hate the way that some people have tried to define football as an open and attacking mentality set by a team.

Even worse is when people think that defensive teams deserve to lose because they're not trying to entertain an audience on TV.

I'm getting increasingly fed up of media bias when it comes to football.

The commentator should be as neutral as possible, not pursuing his own agenda in relation to who he likes or dislikes.

It was ridiculous on the BBC tonight as they clearly wanted Spain to win because they play 'good football'.

They drew attention to Dutch fouls, while ignoring Spanish ones; they drew attention to Dutch dives, but ignored the same from Spain; and they even chose not to comment on Xavi trying to referee the game, but getting in the ref's face and demanding cards be given to Dutch players.

I hate football pundits. They are so much worse than the ones in other sports.
Awesome behaviour from the Dutch commentator though. Really excellent game from him. You could tell he was supporting Holland obviously, but he did so with grace and immediately said Van Bommel and De Jong could have been sent off.

Barcelona think they have the god given right to win football games. That's why they were so angry when Inter won.

Ya, they dived and cheated their way throughout the tournament, provoking opponents, committing sneaky fouls and generally playing dirty. Of course nobody would call it a victory for football :D

 Shearer in particular has been monging over Spain way too much.
It's Hansen that's really been pissing me off.

I fucking hate that Anglophile cunt.

Pleased to hear it.

I wish some British football commentators were able to do their job a properly.

Reds point about Spain trying to referee the game is extremely true it's a regular occurrence from both xavi and busquets, and it is far from 'beautiful'

I was thinking about a team like Greece in 2004, because I didn't really see their anger at Inter in the semi final. There are a lot of things wrong with the top two Spanish clubs though, that's a fact.

Even reading the wikipedia page on anti football, you see a quote from Messi saying that Rangers didn't want to play football against Barça in the CL group stage in one edition (FT of the game was 0-0). How can that not make sense to him?

I was actually glad when Inter won in the Champions League against Barcelona because that was a victory for Football. People have this messed up mentality that football is all about posession. Give me counterattacking football anyday.

any big match that does not fucked up by the referee is victory enough for football really...the art / exhibition side of the equation is just bullshit IMO.

that whenever Spain or Barcelona win something commentators and journalists call it a "victory for football". This happens so frequently and I find it always to be disrespectful to the other team. Am I the only one who notices this and gets bothered by it?

check my latest posts, and see for yourself whether I agree with you or not

Funny thing about the Barca players. Once the euphoria of a Spanish victory wears off they return to their idea that Catalonia is not Spain. Hypocrisy.
