Was at a high school American football :)yuck: ) game Friday night. I brought the latest Calcio Italia magazine to read. (I had absolutely no interest in the game at all; I went to bring my daughter who will be going to the high school next year).

Anyway, I was wearing my new Juve cap (see avatar :D ). The game ended and we were walking down the steps of the stand.

Juventus!

Now, I was thinking about the match on Saturday, so, TBH, I figured I'd imagined it. :embarass: , so I kept walking.

Hey, Juventus!

Someone was calling me, for sure, and they were calling me Juventus :D

Anyway, he was wearing a shirt with an Inter patch. He said he'd spotted my cap, and pointed at his chest apologetically.

Hey, I said, don't apologize...it's a great team. We're going to beat the pants off you (wide grin on my face), but they're a good side.

Agreed to talk calcio at the next home football game.

Now I won't be bored off my *** again.:D

Just thought I'd share :)

Aaaah, little Lou has found a friend to play with... :touched:

But I think you'll have a hard time finding someone in the US who doesn't think Juventus is some kind of Chinese group of satan-worshippers.

Seriously.

Last night I was riding shotgun in my wife's car driving down SF's Embarcadero, and we drove in front of SBC Park where people were starting to pile in for the Green Day show there last night. I spotted one guy in line wearing a Del Piero jersey, so I had to yell out the window, "Forza Del Piero!" ... and he turned, smiled and gave the thumbs up back.

Rare moments like that are pretty cool around these parts.

Well what else do you expect? If you go to Korea and talk about the Steelers they will only recognize the POHONG variety...if you go to Zaire and talk about the Avalanche you will have to explain the meteorlogical condition of snow first...

But why would someone wear a referee jersey  it's pretty stupid to assume someone is wearing one

BTW, that was my 500th post! :D:D:D

It's a matter of perspective. In some parts of the world, you're oversaturated in exposure by European football and perhaps Juventus in particular. In other parts, like here, it's more like finding a compatible kidney donor with a matching AB- blood type.

I can't tell you how many times I've run into people in the States while wearing my Kappa warm up jacket, and they've come up to ask me why I have the "silver naked ladies" from the mud flaps of 18-wheel trucks running down my sleeves. The fact is that the natural instinct for most people is not to think, even if their presumptions don't make a lot of sense, and they are quick to judge first.

BTW, that was my 500th post! :D:D:D
Congrats!!
