Too many years ago, I came across a white sale catalog in the mail one day while trying to avoid studying (a JC Penney ad, in fact). In it, there were all sorts of "valances" for sale ... basically window dressings/curtains for your home. They each have different names for different styles. One was called a "Swag Valance", which was just too brilliant -- so I adopted it as my cheesy Holiday Inn lounge singer alter ego. Now a name like that said "Social Chair" to me. I've used it ever since.

Swag is just the short form.
Wanna know something geeky? I envy the fact that you've got an interesting story behind your nickname :moan:

why, so people can show how unfunny they are by throwing around a joke that wasn't funny in the first place?

I know, but it was obviously a play on the word pussy.

I'm not attacking your sense of humour or anything of the sort, but the thread looked to be going nowhere, fast.

Thanks for understanding snoop.

I know it's hard to take sometimes when a thread that you made gets closed, but believe me, if every thread that someone was fond of stayed open, the forums would probably resemble a junkyard.

Not to say that your thread was junk of course. In fact there was nothing wrong with the thread at all, nor the title. It's just that every post was just another person's attempt at a p*ssy joke.

If you wish to open a new thread to post pictures of your cat, feel free to do so. The principle is that a thread isn't judged solely on the opener's intentions or the original intended material.

Cheers ;)

I'm not worthy!

Whew. Thanks to Graham and Cheta, I'm out of the top spot. :)

What sunk me was probably meeting my then-wife-to-be on the Internet in 1995 (and developing Web sites before then). But what probably saved me is that I don't read comics nor care for science fiction.
