Yes he is. What an ironic picture no? We're supposed to have the best strike force in the world yet we need one of our two good defenders to score...

    Hmmm :D

Oh, I sense a cultural barrier here. We are not giving up - we will most certainly support our team with EVERYTHING we've got, especially against Germany. We will, at all times, try to shout our boys to a win and the next round but, realistically, of course, France is the absolute favourite.

I mean, for ****'s sake, even a complete ignorant moron could tell you that!

All that poll really tells you is that the Dutch are of the opinion they need a bit of luck and an immense fighting spirit to be able to win the title. Naturally we'll try to acquire that luck from Lady Fortune by shouting our longues out ;)
Good! I was worried there for a sec ;)

Although the poll is indeed pessimistic, it's pretty fair with France being the favourites. Having the best team, being unbeaten in qualification, and wanting revenge from the WC failure, there's no one stopping them except themselves. Czech Republic being the second favourites seems pretty optimistic to me, while I agree with Martin on Germany. Why aren't Italy(and Spain) included?

    Btw nice avatar Amr.

Of course Germany is outsider and all you using swear words describing the German NT will have fun during EC 2004 (To see them lose and cry) :D

    Forza Italia!

PS: FC Porto and AS Monaco were outsiders, too ... just an incidental remark :fero: ;)

i dont understand how anyone can consider the czechs as favourites to win the EC,IMO the best they could ever get to is the quarter finals.why do you guys overrate the Czech republic because they beat Holland or because they did well in the qualifiers?

Damn straight, the only reason we shout at them is to make sure they won't make the same mistakes again when facing the rival :fero::D

I hope all fans behave in a friendly manner and I'm a bit afraid that some idiots could use tournament as a platform for political actions/ attacks ... keep fingers crossed for peaceful games! :thumb:

I'd also like to point out that the Dutch-German rivalry focuses on football. We don't hate each other nor do we wish upon the other party all terrible things this crappy planet has in store.

I'll get seriously drunk if you beat us, Basti, but other than that I like you lot just fine :D

With lack of a handshaking smilie, this one will have to do: :thumb:

Because they know they still are the underdogs. France, Holland, Spain, and Portugal all have better players, so they have nothing to lose. I know, teams that do very well in Qualifiers usually do poorly in the big Tournament, but that cannot always be case. I also think that their new counterattacking style could be trouble for teams slow at the back, like Germany, or Holland....... sorry. :D
