The players don't cheat, which is what should impress you as a former player. It's not worth getting into a discussion over what was done by certain members of management, & let's not forget that was only proven by underhanded methods! Call me a cynic but there are many others in many countries who do & have done worse & just haven't had charges brought against them for lack of evidence. (witnesses too well bribed or frightened to come forward) On American soccer, I've been a fan of your national team since the days of Davis, Ramos, Windischmann, Harkes, Murray, & as he then was, the "hippie" musician Alexi Lalas, from early 1990 during their final preparation for Italia 90, & beyond that into the days of Cobi Jones & Claudio Reyna. Even with a 3'rd choice side in the Copa America I wanted to see them do something! But....American soccer the best? I'll say this, it could be a strong contender if more people in your country got rid of the idea of dismissing it as "not being an American game" & "not a man's game if so many girls play it!" That & some serious government funding could do a lot more for the USA!
