Can anyone help me with such thing?

I need to cut video files, but I would like to get sth simple to use.
Like: I mark the place I want to cut, choose option: delete after this mark, save the rest - and the end of work. It's possible with mp3 files, is is possible with video files?

I used Virtual Dub, but this is weird thing :(
I wanted only cut too long file, but I had to record sth, then I needed sth to compress files  and as final result I got 2,5 GB file from 600 MB.

Any easy way to cut files?? Please? :)

    So:
I have on huge video, it's 800 MB big, and I want to burn it on CD.
And the end of video is unnecessary for me, so I want to cut off about 100-120 MB, the end part.
So after such cut the video should have about 700 MB.

    How to do that?

Yes, VirtualDub is a very good program. Perhaps you should encode the video using the DivX plugin

Go to Video --> Compression and click on the DivX 5.0.3 Codec , keep the default settings and save the file

To get it, go to http://www.divx.com

If that doesn't work, tell me exactly what u wanna do and i can help a bit more. Good luck :thumb:

open the Video file using Virtual Dub, then move the Video slider to where the unnecessary part starts, then from the Edit menu pick----> set selection start, then again Move the video slider till the end of the unnecessary part , and from the edit menu pick ----> set selection end, then press the delete button on your keyboard.

If you want to keep the Stream as it is without any compression, then from the Video menu pick ------> Direct stream copy. or else use the compression option on the Video menu too.

then you have to save the file, Press F7 to do that.

I hope I was of any help to you :)

Guys, I've got one more question about video files :)

I've got some video in rm. format, for Real Player.
But I would like to change it to .avi format.

I couldnt open it with VirualDub.

So what other program should I use to change .rm to .avi?
