I think its a misconception that Eid is celebrated the day after Arafat day. Eid is celebrated on the 10th day of Dhul Hijjah. Dhul Hijjah started one day late in India, hence its on Wednesday here. At least thats my understanding.

True. But the way in which the months are calculated is solely based on the position of the moon. So if we could (hypothetically) perform Hajj in India, we would perform it one day late
