There are many common factors that link Didier Deschamps and David Trezeguet. Both played for France, Juventus and celebrate their birthdays on 15 October.
Deschamps, currently in charge of Les Bleus following a three-year stint with Marseilles, celebrates his 44[SUP]th[/SUP] birthday, while Trezeguet, who plies his trade Argentinean side River Plate, turns 35 today.
The former midfield general spent five years with the Bianconeri (1994-1999), winning nine trophies in the process: three titles, one Coppa Italia, two Italian Super Cups, one Champions League, one Intercontinental Cup and one European Super Cup. He then returned as manager in the summer of 2006, and was able to steer Juventus back to Serie A at the first time of asking.
Trezeguet proved an explosive force in the Bianconeri attack and immediately won the hearts of the Juve faithful with his sharp shooting and lethal partnership with Alessandro Del Piero. In his 11 seasons in Turin the striker hit 171 goals, enjoyed four Scudetto triumphs and an Italian Super Cup victory.
But it was with the international side that both achieved their greatest career successes, lifting the World Cup on home soil in 1998 before winning the European Championships two years later.
All associated with Juventus Football Club wish both Didier and David a very happy birthday.
